The Acres Homes neighborhood developed during World War I. Warren Fitzgerald Muhammad’s family moved in shortly after Black Americans were able to purchase land.
Don’t ever move into a space where you gotta share it with other people, buy a regular single family home where you can wave at your neighbors from afar and mind your business.
I always say the same thing. If no business or developer wants to come in they say "they abandoned the black community and refuse to invest in us" if they come in and invest they say it's driving them out of their community.
What they are doing in my area the developers want the land so they are upping the taxes to the point that a normal working human cannot pay them and are forced to sell.
It didn’t stop in 4th Ward. Why should it stop now? There are historical markers in Freedman’s Town but they just ignored them. 4th award is on Dallas near downtown by Allen Parkway.
So you want the community to continue looking like absolute crap. Nobody is forcing those people out... they're willingly selling those homes. Also nobody is stopping black people from purchasing the newer homes.
Those houses do not look like a million dollar homes. Not in Houston.
Maybe in San Francisco but HOUSTON? He is gaslighting people
The Conversation was heated Im glad this was brought up much needed

It’s a free country to where, if you buy land and want to build on it, that’s your right.
No that’s just crazy. Lmao
@@mikelagarratesta8089 I’m sure you’re behind your little keyboard literally laughing.
I was being sarcastic.
Yeah I agree but that shouldn’t rise my property taxes period that’s how you know is all BS
@@luisvilla799 so let’s do away with property taxes.
They try to improve a neighborhood, and they still complain. Then if they don't improve the neighborhood, they complain about that.

He never told the so called affordable price. Made an excuse. SMDH
They do it everywhere. They don’t care about the color of the residents.
"we were able to keep our prices low" is code for shoddy construction
These homes are a hazard to the people that live there because they are too close together if one of them catches fire they will all burn down.
Excelent job for everyone.
All we need better life, better community always.
Bring back the grocery store !

The new developments are so ugly. No lawn, no trees, no front porches
I wouldn't be able to know which one was mine. They're all the same.
And yet fools will buy them
Cramming low quality, unaffordable homes on a small lot, doesn’t seem like a problem to most
That's why we have single family zoning areas
Sure. Clean up a neighborhood and you’re bad.

Rodriguez huh? Sounds crypto
He looks like one of those insufferable crypto bros that drives a bmw, drinks IPAs and wears boat shoes
