  • Here is a FABULOUS song! Let's look at the iconic intro as well as the shuffle patterns on each chord which can very easily be applied to many other songs. We do a slow speed Playalong and then a full concert speed Playalong at the end - SO FUN!

    great stuff my man. I just got back into the band ''thing'' after a 5 year hiatus. I really got into the Ukulele and starting fresh with a new instrument taught me I can do anything if I take my time. I would always beat myself up about, how I should've been better on guitar after playing for 20 years. when I saw intricate guitar work, I would shut down thinking ''I can't do that.'' I picked up my Taylor (very similar to yours) about a month ago and am making significant strides, already surpassing my previous playing. Taking my time, and knowing, now, no one just wakes up and can do these things because of talent. That is key and that's why I LOVE your teaching style. You preach low and slow and Brother I'm buying-in on your sermon...lol. So, I'm back at lead vocals/rythm accoustic in a band and we are covering this. I've been singing it for years and never learned it on guitar...now I am...got the intro down and now working on the bluesy shuffle. I told my wife, when I came across your channel, that some thing about your teaching ''really clicked'' with me. Sorry, I'm never this long-winded...lol. Just wanted to say thanks. BTW, I play the Taylor 214ce and it's cut and finish is a twin of yours....what model do you play?

    Just heard this song on the radio and thought I would see if there were any good lessons on youtube. I was thinking I'll bet Shane has one . Sure enough it was posted an hour ago. Thanks! Now what song should I think of next ,

    Great lesson, I'm looking forward to learning this song. Speaking of Beat Buddy, could you start adding which Beat Buddy setting to the song sheets? After watching this video I went and looked for more lessons. I found Seven Bridges Road from a while back. What are the chances of remaking that lesson adding the Best Buddy?

    Hi Love the song ..Question regarding the Beat buddy ...I am interested but have heard that the software is a bit tricky.. Would you ever consider doing a short demo? Thanks again for all the great work

    • @GuitarAtWork
      @GuitarAtWork  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you Paul - great song indeed. I have never found the Beatbuddy software to be tricky at all. If you just start with the basics when it arrives - get to know all the great stuff that is preprogrammed on it. You don’t have to do anything at all except choose a style and a speed by rotating a knob. Super friendly. Best to you! Shane

    Shane assuming copyright stuff stops you from singing along? It would be SO helpful for me as a learner to hear the lyrics so I know exactly what is going where.....
    BTW thanks you are really one of the very best teachers on CZcams!

    Hey Shane could you do a video on how you have your Beatbuddy set up? Both your specific setup AND a really simple setup for people that don’t have a home studio and just want to use the BB to practice? Thanks

      That's a great idea - I get a lot of questions about that very thing. I know there are a lot of good videos out there that go through all of the advanced features of the Beatbuddy and its sister products - Thanks. Cheers! Shane

    I have the Beat Buddy and love it!!! I purchased the Singular Sound Premium Library Beat Buddy SD card and trying to locate the song Long Cool Woman. Am I missing the song on the SD card, or is it on a different one? I figured it would be on the list. Can you help me find it?
    Thank you!

      Hey Danny - I just checked and that song is not in the Premium Library. You can use the Pop-Rock Str8 pattern at 139Bpm. That pattern comes with your Bearbuddy. Cheers, Shane

      Hi Michael - fabulous! The Beatbuddy is SO much fun. I'm using the 'Blues 1' pattern that comes preinstalled on all Beatbuddies. Set the tempo knob to 140BPM. Cheers! Shane

    It sounds to me on the Hollie recording that instead of hammer on he is actually picking both notes. It's got that attack that sounds like a pick. Hammer on has a softer attack. But it could be he has some sloppy strings and very hard calluses.
