@@juniastainbank2920 Um they literally do. The USA basketball team is a culmination of the best players across all the NBA franchises. America has virtually dominated major international sports for decades. We've proven in many sports that our best beats everyone else's best consistently, especially in sports like basketball.
A premier player from another country will come to the NBA and sit on the bench, bc the level of play is just different here. That's an objective, observable fact.
"Cute effort, though" is what we say to the other countries while we're stacking up our medals. Anything else?
The USA basketball teams are not franchises. They are a culmination of the best players from across all franchises. You contradicted yourself in your second sentence. The USA basketball/ soccer/ hockey teams etc. are National Teams. A franchise is a team traditionally associated with a city or region. Once again, I admire you for trying.
