thank you for the 3 hours (almost 4 hours) video guide for DEI Campain, this is very helpful for me to chouse faction to start and understanding the mechanic of the DEI mod.
Thank you 😁. Its not a faction ranking thou. Its like the starting difficulty of each faction and how their strengths, weaknesses base on my knowledge 😁
Carthage is not a threat at all, theyre very far away and they wont come to you unless you go into Sicily. And when you do it youre already strong enough to fight them easily 😁
Thanks 😁. Talking non-stop for 4 hours was kinda tired especially it was in English as well. At some point I didnt even know what Im talking about anymore 🤣🤣. Merry christmas 😁.
I personally found that Macedon and the Seleucids had rather easy starts due to their superb cavalry and pikemen. The hardest start I have had so far has been as the Cimbri. No money, surrounded by potentially hostile tribes, reduced campaign movement, weak/mediocre cavalry. I would love to get beyond this initial phase because they have some of the best infantry in the game.
Fantastic Video. Definitely will refer to this the next time I wish to start a campaign. Just recently started a Pontus Campaign and would like to give some feedback regarding Pontus' start. The issue with playing with Pontus is that Armenia often declares war very early on, I have restarted the campaign multiple times and they usually declare war about 3 turns in...not sure if this is a scripted event. Normally, this isn't much of an issue, but the danger is being trapped in a protracted 2 front war. You cant take out Cappadocia in time before the Armenians come along, since they are so far away and you have to piss off the Galatians in the process. The Armenians also are a behemoth starter faction with 4 starting settlements, which can take a while to take down. My solution for this is to blitz down the Armenians, before a Schlieffen Plan to backtrack and deal with the Cappadocians. However, that failed as they managed to sack Amaseia, although the Galatians eventually took them out. However, due to the rapid overextension, I spent the next 20 turns dealing with the results of over-extension and shitty public order. The settlements are quite disconnected in multiple provinces which made it hard to govern. My main source of income for the next 20 turns is to repeatedly loot Colchis, letting the rebels take over, and looting it again. Not that it was an overly hard campaign, but Pontus is harder than one might initially expect.
do a tier list for cavalry, shock infantry etc if u havent already. good video btw. i wana try some of the harder factions or the iceni with slingers only or something
Great stuff as always, the only thing I miss is the units that the germani factions get for their yellow and religious buildings, I play a lugii campaign once and from religious buildings they can get some cool units, nothing very op but very useful nontheless, I think that you only miss those units, cant remember if there is another barbarian faction with the same logic, but, as I said, great fuckin stuff
@@ATotalHardcorePlayer yeah, i think that the Caledonii have something similar? Like druid something some barbarian have very nice units from religious buildings
@@losdocereyes4442 iirc they have a druid unit which is a swords unit with very high attack and encourage but less protection. Can be useful but I prefer the swordmasters 😁.
I haven't played that many campaigns, but I also found Kolkhis to be hard. I played on normal, and on that difficulty it is possible to rush the first enemy. Then liberate the city so that you can face Bosphorus and the Scythians. I had to try 3 times to get off the ground, and the Scythians declared war on me each time, even when I paid them for treaties. To beat the nomad factions, I spammed local archers to win the missile duel against them, while protecting my archers from their melee cav. There is an early chapter objective to ally with the Kartli, I found this to be a massive trap as it pulled me into war with more nomad factions, who were able to skip the Kartli entirely and go straight for my capital. After getting off the ground, their roster is very fun!
The Scythians were the easiest faction I have played, the upkeep reduction + increased ammo is so good, I just spammed horse archers all campaign and rarely had to even recruit local troops or mercs into my armies to replace losses. I have played the Saka too, and found the steamroll to be less powerful than the Scythians because I couldn't kill as many troops before running out of ammo
@@peavizzle yeah aggree. Colchis roster is super fun but it takes a while to get to that. Probaly Im gonna ask the dev to change the starting barrack from greek barrack to the easterner barrack which gives Colchis better troops early on. Dunno if they will aggree or not thou 😁
That was an amazing video! Thank you! My only complaint is, why didn't you cover the other two nomad factions? They're the only two factions you didn't start a game up to show us. Saka has a different location and different neighbours than Royal Scythia and the other (I don't remember name). Royal Scythia starts right next to Black Sea Colonies and the other starts so incredibly far from everyone else. Does at least Royal Scythia deserve a harder rating than Saka and maybe the other?
@@ATotalHardcorePlayer lol it's all good, I was just thrown off is all. Again, amazing video! Whether it's in six months or two years, I would absolutely love you to cover Attila's grand campaign with it's DEI equivalent, the 'Fall of the Eagles' mod.
Jesus that Epirus roaster is op as f from a start :D how come AI rome always win its impossible to lose 😂 I always make peace with them as Rome for 2000 or so and they will attack Carthage , then after 10 turns you can just take Taras even on legendary :D
Because it's scripted, Rome can't lose. You can also notice this with Carthage: sometimes you may see them attack a settlement with a full stuck and get destroyed😂 Same if Rome gets attacked from barbarians in the nord...
@@user-hz3yj7cx3z idk, there are probably a few submods to reduce Rome auto resolve bonus but I dont know if theyre up to date or not. You can ask for more info on the DeI discord.
Where's the fun in rushing Rome? Better to let Rome develop, at least until the Marian reforms (although Imperial reforms is where it's at), only then you can really test the mettle of your faction. Obliterating legions is one of the finest pleasures in this game 🤤

Yeah blitz Armenia is the best strat for Pontus. Pontus has a great early roster and Armenia has a pretty bad one so you will have an advantage.
Very good video! Maybe one day we will get some Three Kingdoms and some 1212AD Attila videos??
