CAD/CAM is transforming the modern world of textile design and manufacturing. This resource looks at four areas of the UK textile industry where cutting edge technology is being used: Digital Printing, Embroidery, Knitting and Laser cutting. For each case study the programme shows how CAD/CAM is used at different stages of the production process. Designers explain how they work in function of new technologies and manufacturers illustrate how they use CAD/CAM and the benefits it brings to their business.
The accompanying teachers notes include: photocopiable student activities, advice on how CAD/CAM and ICT can be incorporated into student work, as well as further background information on the case-studies seen in the DVD.
