    Your art can’t change the world if no one sees it. Today we’re exploring ways to build an engaged audience around your art.
    If you’re one of those people who make art as a hobby and are happy with the two hundred followers on Instagram who comment the fire emoji under your new posts in the hope you’re going to do the same for them, bless your soul. I love your pure heart and dedication to your craft.
    But what if I told you that it is not only possible but completely doable to make art for your personal pleasure and still have a passionate, cheering community to help motivate you when you’re not feeling as creative?

    You know that feeling when you spent long hours on drawing and posted it online but literally nobody actually interact? Tried again, and again with consistency but the count is lower and lower to the point that it seems like you're showing to nobody? Yeah, that's what I felt and after commissions were done I'm off the acc after more than a year. To my surprise, all of the comissions that I had done were actually loved and displayed since the day it was done until now. Unfortunately, I don't have the energy to get back on the acc even though I tried so hard to draw again. It feels like it will be unseen again by the crowd but once again I'd like to give it a shot.

      @@timturuev1474 Oh man, sorry bout the link because the only platform that I posted is on insta but the acc is currently disabled. What I can describe is I'm on intermediate level, able to realistically colour the drawing (digital) but I'm still not that 'good' with anatomy. I usually draw characters and concept arts. Man that's really tough to hear, instagram can be really hard to get noticed even though we tried our best. My followings aren't that much of a wow factor either, less than a hundred for a couple of months. Just like you, none of my followers really saw what I had done and it's very frusrating when you tryna grow in this industry yknow. I think I did everything that they had told but I was on the same par so that was why I dropped it for quite some time. Hopefully we could grow our account someday :)

      lol i can completely relate to this, the way i get rid of that feeling is to just post my art, not for others, but coz I am proud of the artwork and coz i had fun doing it :-) numbers can ruin people in a weird but understandable way. Just dont give up, thats the main point

    I don't often comment, but sometimes I just wanna say what I'm thinking to people who I know can relate to. I feel like I'm not consistent mainly because my art medium isn't focused enough, it seems like people don't wanna see 2D art from a 3D artist, and vice versa. this also goes for traditional and digital art. it's like you must pick one, and I know for a professional career, you mostly will, but it's hard to keep that up online too. being consistent and wanting to create other artwork outside of your normal art like 2d is tough with a small audience. anyways, this video gives me the motivation to give trying, so thank you for it!

    • @StylizedStation
      @StylizedStation  Před 2 lety +6

      I have the same issue as you, every time I try to learn another medium(like painting this week) I always feel this wave of guilt hit me. I think its very important as a creative to have a medium that is just for YOU - that you don't share with anyone online, you don't stress about over getting not enough likes or follows, just find a medium that belongs to you and you alone, and create some art for yourself.

    • @nasah99
      @nasah99 Před 2 lety

      That's a very valid concern, especially in the online world with limited attention spans. I have struggled with this myself and one solution seems to be to put out the concept of your art, not the medium. If you can get your admirers into your story, and we build the messaging around that, they'll definitely be more open to changes in medium, style, genre, and your own evolution as an artist.

    I appreciate how this is definitely angled at visual artists, but it’s applicable towards content creators in general! I can easily see these tips and techniques be applied to video essayists, streamers, writers, editors, etc.
    The strength of your advice is it leaves the door wide open for others outside the visual art path, and I appreciate it even if it wasn’t your intent!

While other comments down below did point out that some of these points are vague (note, this is an early comment so those comments may get drowned out soon), they are still in my opinion essential. I've been having kind of mixed results starting my following on Tik Tok for a few weeks now and it always felt like I was missing some kind of crucial ingredient to get my followers more engaged and make my content fun. Now, thanks to your video, I can say that I've been overthinking it this whole time! the thing is about the "joining other artists communities" is that I feel it's not organic growth. I feel kinda weird when a follower follows me because another artist said to and never returns to say hi when I post anything new. They can like me all they want in that other artists community but wont come over to my side to support me. I feel I am stealing other artists viewers, supporters when I do that. My top tip and I'm working on doing this myself is to build your own audience. It will be tougher work but at least you wont feel like your stealing anothers audience.

    Thank you for the advice. I like meeting new people with similar interests on social media and I'm constantly looking for amazing artists to follow, especially when their work is painfully underrated. But it's still painful to see how some people I've met were super friendly and supportive when their accounts were small, then the moment they see themselves with a 2,000+ followers count, they start ignoring and coldly distancing from everyone like "oh I don't need you anymore, I'm on another level" and don't even say "thank you" when you try to support and share their work anymore, when before they were the most attentive and nice. (Talking about instagram)

    Hi :D I am Igor from Serbia :D You are very inspiring and because of you I am gonna start making tutorials like I have planned to do for a long time :D One question though... I want to make tutorials on my mother language and a local language that I also speak fluently... maybe even English, but the 2 for sure, they are Serbian and Hungarian, the target audience is people from the Balkans and from Hungary... What do you think, should I make the tutorials on the same channel and mark them that this one is Serbian and this one is Hungarian or should I make 2 separate channels? So I plan to have the same tutorial in 2 maybe 3 languages... Your taught please...??? :D
    P.S. The reason I want to do this is that not all people who want to learn the 3D that stuff I can teach, speak English very well, so this would make it a lot easier for them to learn new stuff...

    it’s so fucking ridiculous that all of the social media are pushing AI art not the real art that people been creating and posting on these platforms throughout the years.
    I know a lot of artists who are really amazing but don’t get any interaction on social media which is really sad to see whereas these AI artists are getting millions of likes and thousands of followers.
    People needs to change tactics have to create the content which the sites promote more like shorts and reels make it flashy and use trending music.
