Thanks for the upload !!
Growing up in this town was the BEST! My dad was a correction officer and we used to bring his uniforms to Mazzone the Taylor to dryclean, repair and the Mazzone's would give me cheese crackers...I was about 4 or 5. JJ Newberry's, my Aunt worked there, my mom worked there when she was in HS and as a kid we used to walk up town* that was a big deal, my mom would pay the utility bills in the back of the store- Mr & Mrs. Dewitt ran the store, such great memories. When my older sister graduated from Kenneth Hair Design in Framingham her first hairdressing job was in the Salon in the back of JJ Newberrys. The best was going into Newberry's* at the spa we got coke & french fries and the red bar stools turned around, we had so much fun!!! Newberry's had toys, household & I think mini pets in the downstairs, and the upstairs had household and men, woman and kids clothes and the right side had candy and nuts. Such a big deal to go up town walking up and spending time with our mom and us kids. Ty so much Joe for doing this video, I had such a wonderful childhood and such more memories, so great to reminiss and feel so fortunate!! ;))
Walking back in time with Joe is always a great time! Thanks, Joe , for all of your research and love for our hometown!
Great video, thank you.
I feel like there is a theme here: So and so building was torn down for a parking lot. A true American story.
I saw so many movies at the Zeotrope! ET, The Ghostbusters, Pulp Fiction
I love my hometown ❤️
This is great! Love this tour of the Twon of Franklin!
I also remember White Hen Pantry, Cronin’s coffee ☕️ shop, John the Barber 💈, and Friendly’s 🍦
wow it's so hard to believe the difference between 1975 to 2018. So hard to believe.
Luv Franklin MA!
Is the old Lola’s Dairy location the same location where The White Hen Pantry use to be?
I never knew there was a Stop & Shop in downtown Franklin? How long ago was this? What year, looks like maybe 50s
RIP to the Zeotrope and Meldiva Coffee House.
The library? Dean college? The Fire Dept?
