"Brain Damage" is the ninth track[nb 1] from English rock band Pink Floyd's 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon.[1][2] It was sung on record by Roger Waters (with harmonies by David Gilmour), who would continue to sing it on his solo tours. Gilmour sang the lead vocal when Pink Floyd performed it live on their 1994 tour (as can be heard on Pulse). The band originally called this track "Lunatic" during live performances and recording sessions.

Nice! "Brain Damage/Eclipse" are the last two songs on Dark Side of The Moon. But to get the full effect of that album you really must listen to it from start to finish because each song leads into the next to present a full overview of the cycle of life. Released in 1973, Dark Side of The Moon remained in the charts for 962 weeks -- 18.5 years! It ranks high among the greatest albums of all time. "Money", "Us and Them", and "Time" got plenty of radio play back in the seventies, so I heard those songs long before I listened to the album in full sometime in the early eighties. Since then I've listened to the full album too many times to count!

"Everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon". That one line gives you hope and takes it away all at the same time. This chaotic world will never be in tune until "Us and Them" make it that way. You listening, Putin?

So funny I am almost a tea totaller today yet I still remember the nights getting stoned in Amsterdam listening to Dark Side of the Moon. Great memories and a band I will never stop listening to.

If you want "TRIPPY", you should react to DOGS (my favorite), a 17-minute song. Also ECHOES, a 23-minute song.

I remember my drummer bought the album to my house the day it was released and some mind altering libations. We listen to that album for a whole month that night.. 😁😁. Really the only way to fully get into pink floyd

A good clue to help understand this album is that it's main theme revolves around: “WHAT DRIVES PEOPLE CRAZY”.
(BREATHE); If the performance required in life can drive people crazy.
(ON THE RUN); If the frantic rush of life can drive people crazy.
(TIME); If the fleeting aspect of passing time can drive people crazy.
(THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY); If the thought of the inevitable end (death), can drive people crazy.
(MONEY); If love, or lack of money can drive people crazy.
(US AND THEM); If the differences in class of people or the power grant to them can drive people crazy.
(ANY COLOR YOU LIKE); If the illusion of being able to choose can drive people crazy.
(BRAIN DAMAGE); If the many rules of life (keep off the grass), or the fear of losing your mind can drive people crazy.
(ECLIPSE); Since our influence in this world comes down to what is within our reach, "All that you..."
then even though the brightness of the sun may be eclipsed by the darkness of the moon.
But anyway, (I'll see you on the dark side of the moon).

You need to watch Pink Oz, which is this album synced to The Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland and Company.

This is the last song. It ends with a heart beat. The abum starts with a heart beat. kinda a endless loop. If you where playing this on reel to reel tape deck (lot of them around back then) that's exactly what it is. Game changing piece of work.

If you start at the end, you have to go backwards thru the album, ending with Speak to Me. For best results start at the beginning and listen to the whole thing

An amazing song from an amazing album! You should listen to the entire “Dark side of the moon” album it’s breathtaking: Here are its songs and their meaning (based on my interpretation):
    1. Speak to me - The beginning of the protagonist’s story
    2. Breathe - His birth and childhood as he grows
    3. On the run - Him joining the “rat-race” in society as he’s running along
    4. Time - The alarm goes off and he realizes that the clock is ticking and time waits for no one.
    5. The great gig in the sky - Acknowledging the fact that eventually every will die and pass on in the afterlife.
    6. Money - Wants to invest in all the money and hard work he has earned so he could enjoy the fruits of his labor.
    7. Us and them - A “what if” take when all of society and humanity decides to join the “rat race” which leads to war and conflict.
    8. Any color you like - Live your life anyway you want even after everything that’s happened. Got the money, got the power then go out with a bang!
    9. Brain damage - Everything collapses suddenly and he’s goes insane and loses this mind completely.
    10. Eclipse - Reminiscing everything that was said and done from beginning to end…

Do something new, instead of reactions to something you had nothing to do with creating. I wish you continued copyright strikes for trying to gain from other's talents and accomplishments.
