A really cool detail about this game was how each character had a unique and memorable car. Not only that, but their cars changed gradually throughout the game, sometimes multiple times (e.g. Scott's Civic changes 3 times). This really made the game more immersive, and made you feel like you were racing real people who were customising and changing their ride along the way, just like you. It's a real shame they took this out of Underground 2. I could tell you every AI that drives every car in U1, I couldn't tell you a single AI car bar the main characters in U2.
Well, in NFS ProStreet, they did the same thing here, although some are only present in one race type, like Grip Runners (grip races only), After Mix (drag races only), Touge Union (drift races only), and Boxcut (speed races only), while most of them are present in all race types like Apex Glide. Oh, and you'll also be meeting different drivers in each of racing organizations.
Scott's Civic is such a... I don't how to describe it, really. It's what encouraged me to save up for an Si EM1, and when I get it, I'm gonna deck it out to look like his!
In NFSU2 random oponents tuning really makes the experience more bland sadly. With so much tuning options, mostly with vinyl and colours, its easy to just spend your time racing with the ugliest cars ever (lke A skin-pink colored supra with mustard, green and red vinyls with blue accesories)
A few facts about opponents:
1. Daryl has a 3rd preset, which was used for a drift race only;
2. Rosie has a 3rd preset for a drift race as well;
3. Scott’s 3rd preset has 8 brand decals on the hood, but you can’t see them (idk the reason of it);
4. Bopper has the smallest “tuning ratio” as he doesn’t tune his car that much (comparing his presets);
5. Carl has 2 unseen presets (2nd one was used in a drift event, and the 3rd one is unused)
6. Nesto’s name was used not only in U1, but in U2 (random preset), MW (random as well) and Carbon (random Muscle car, but he’s connected with Los Colibries team, and the preset randomness means that he’s either a wingman or a crew leader);
7. Jackie has an unused 3rd preset with a Vapor widebody kit;
8. Terry is the most unique opponent, as he has not only 3, but 6 presets as he has 3 unused Civic presets (plus, his 3rd Focus preset has a Vapor bodykit and it was used for a drift race)
9. Carla has a 3rd unseen preset which was used in a drift race;
10. Lebron has a 3rd unseen drift preset as well;
11. Hector removed a vinyl from the hood on a lvl 3 preset;
12. DeShawn’s lvl3 preset was meant to have an unknown decals (might be Toyota logos);
13. Will's 2nd and 3rd presets were meant to have decals on the hood, front and rear window (1 of those decals might be a subaru logo)
14. Nutz’s lvl2 preset is the only preset, which has a painted stock spoiler (glitch);
15. Lazio’s lvl3 preset was meant to have a black and yellow vinyl, but it’s impossible to say which one;
16. Brian’s was meant to have 2 big hood decals on his 240sx;
17. Britton’s preset was meant to have 4 big decals on the hood as well;
18. Ishii was meant to have 2 small black KENWOOD decals on the hood;
19. Kaz is the only secondary opponent who has a Skyline;
20. Probes, Hunter, Macca, Hoffman, Tickets and Forge are the only racers you can see only one time;
21. Vince has a typo in the “Sliding Made Easy”race being named as Vionce;
22. Vlad and Hammer are the only racers to be seen at “Quick race” only;
23. Skid and Gears are the only “one-time” opponents that can be seen in the rankings;
24. Suki, Cherry, Jimmy, Lew and Bling are the only racers which you can see in the rankings only;
25. Melissa’s livery can be used for a Skyline, but it would look like an Eastsiders one;

found more things about opponents:
1. Britton, Lola (RSX) and Jarrus (somehow) have white Acura decals
2. Sparks and Eddie have white Nissan decals
3. Todd and Klutch have hood decals
4. Kaz has settings for decals on Vapor widebody kit, either it was meant to have it, or preset was made based on lostprophets one and devs forgot to remove those settings
5. Scott has both black and white Honda decals
Even though I knew most of these already there are also quite a few new ones, thanks for sharing. How do you know the ones like "Lazio meant to have decals"? Is it in the game files as well?
@@VixenTM yes, car brand decals are written as 0x-hex variable (because they don't have a reference key (e.g. INJEN_WHITE_DECAL))
Still, i haven't found any way to make decals appear on the hood
How do you check all of this?, what part of the game files and/or what program did you use to find all of this?

I'd never noticed that each member of Eddie's posse has a different Eastsiderz "animal" despite having beaten this game many times over. Thought they were all like Eddie's. Really nice.
One of the coolest details about this game doesnt seem to get the recognition it deserves. Basically in ug1 ricers are actually bad: in those events where you race against 3 of the same cars (for example 3 MX-5, 3 Sentra's or Tiburons) you only see the riciest car of the 3 once, meaning they lose races often while the others using cleaner cars can be seen very late in the game too (an example: at 4.46 we only see this riced Sentra once, while we encounter Ricco's Sentra, the white one, again later in the game too at 15:10 and in other races too.)

Yup, but 1 thing about Hector (Purple Sentra) is that despite he has a super riced up car, he was a top1-top3 drag racer according to Rankings (his main opponents are Ishii (15:02) and Kaz (18:32)) during all the walkthrough.
Not to mention the fact that in almost all races with 3 same cars, each opponent's list has the same pattern
E.G. - 3 Sentra, 3 Peugeot 206 & 3 Tiburon race
1 - a guy who managed to get to the top 1-6 best racers in the certain class (Hector, Wart and Fish)
2 - a guy, who didn't get/managed to get to the top 6-10 best racers in the certain class (Ricco, Bryce and Lebron)
3 - either a (car name) club leader or opponents' friend with the same car they have; shows up in only 1 race and has only 1 car preset (Hoffman, Tickets and Macca)
Nonetheless, there's an exception - 4th Sentra owner (10:14) - Skid. He has the same pattern as Hoffman (shows up in only 1 race and has only 1 car preset), but also has been №5 and №6 in the Top 10 Best Sprint Racers at the end of the Carrer mode. He could really be so called Sentra club leader as he has the cleanest Sentra in my opinion.
Do you mean the Sentra at 4:56 (Hoffman)? The one at 4:46 (Hector) is actually seen multiple times later in the game, donning a red body vinyl on the rear (e.g. Draggin Slayer at 17:31)
@@SplitRicer Wow I can't believe you noticed those patterns, that's dedication! Must be something to do with how the game is coded. Although for the last lot, Macca doesn't just have one race, he shows up in at least one other one too (one of Todd's races). And also Tickets doesn't even appear in the game, or if he does I believe it's only in a Drift race so you never see his car. Same goes for Gears who drives an unseen Focus.
@@Travis-guy-247 I am 100% confident that Macca only appears once. However, I never noticed Tickets and Gears. Could you tell me in which race they appear? Even if its just by name in a drift race. Or are these names found in the files?
Thank you for making this video man makes my work easier to re-make them again. One thing I don't like the quality is a bit off but other than that it is great.

Little attention to details: the "Sleeper shootout" race speaks for itself: opponents removed all of their visual tuning to make their cars really look like sleepers - for example, 3:53 - that's how Jet's car looks like when we see it for the first time, 6:17 - that's how it looks like in that race; same thing is for Will (4:28 and 6:16) and LeBron (3:18 and 6:22).
I think its Fish, not LeBron.
