    Reptiles are some of the oldest animals on Earth. If you need help remembering that, just think: Dinosaurs and Pterosaurs were reptiles! The dinosaurs went extinct around 65 million years ago, but we still live with their descendants. Modern reptiles include snakes, lizards, turtle, crocodiles, alligators, geckos, komodo dragons, tortoises...can you think of any others?
    In this video, you'll see many different reptiles and you'll learn about what they have in common and what distinguishes them from one another. For instance, reptiles are all "cold-blooded" (the scientific term is ectothermic), which actually means their body temperature is influenced by their surroundings. That's why you see reptiles sunning themselves!
