- Many of you have been telling me to play Antonblast because of my love for Pizza Tower and today we play the demo and i got to say its pretty good!

It's pretty much A proper Wario Land Game minus the pizza

Just to clarify these guys made AntonBlast and another Anton game while the Pizza Tower Devs were making Pizza Tower
Oh, and Mike hilariously the story is about a Demolition Specialist named Dynamite Anton, and he had his collection of Spirits (Souls) stolen from Satan (the fat short horn demon xD) YES REALLY
That's why he's wreaking havoc just to get the souls. xD
One bit of advice: DO NOT APPROACH IT THE SAME WAY YOU APPROACH PIZZA TOWER.
Pizza tower's levels are designed to be ran through in one fluid go at mach 5, and keeping your combo up is important for rank.
AntonBlast's levels and mechanics are more WarioLand 4/Shake It, with a heavier focus on taking your time to explore the level a bit. And ranks and lap 2s are not a thing in this game, just the collectibles matter.

Finally… I’m glad Mike is giving Antonblast a shot. This game, while also being a wariolike, has so much potential and I genuinely hope it reaches the same highs Pizza Tower did in its heyday.

Reminder for the comments: ANTONBLAST is not a copy of Pizza Tower. They are both "Wario-likes", but have different concepts and alternate inspirations. They are separate indie games, and should be treated as such.

To give ya'll a heads up: Antonblast was NOT inspired by Pizza Tower. In fact, Both games was inspired WARIO LAND 4!
"It's like pizza tower" they say, but far from it.
This is more wario like to be fair while also having some crash bandicoot elements.
Both are good, and should be enjoyed equally, and never compared to each other.

Pizza Tower = Wario Land 4 + Sonic
Antonblast = Wario Land 4 + Crash Bandicoot

If you want more Anton action, play Antonball, his OG game. His Anton origins. And a game that PREDATES Pizza Tower, so you can't say it's a clone.
Also IIRC ANTONBLAST also was in development before Pizza Tower, could be wrong about that one though.
ANTONBLAST has some wacky controls, but it feels super satisfying once you get the hang of it.

Thats the biggest reason youre having an issue with the game's movement: you have pizza tower on the brain, and its making you think you need to play this like pizza tower.
If you want my recommendation, play warioland 4. Thats this game's biggest inspiration, right down to the gba-esque art style

Antonblast is like SUPER COOL! I just hope it gets a lot of good attention since it's a pretty fun game. I just hope people don't compare it to Pizza Tower due to how Pizza Tower came out first. Rather than comparing Antonblast and Pizza Tower to each other, compare the two games to what they were inspired off of (Warioland). When this game comes out fully, I hope to see you play this game entirely!

Pro tips: in tornado form, you can hold the hammer button to speed up. Also if you do a hammer jump, press the hammer button again while doing it to cancel it. It’ll help like ALOT!
This game is amazing, closet thing we’ll get to Wario land 4 2 and Pizza Tower switch but this will be the best closet thing for it when it comes out

This game is so fun
ANTONBLAST is more like Wario Land mixed with Crash Bandicoot, compared to Pizza Tower being Wario Land mixed with Sonic (or for me, Wairo Land mixed with Earthworm Jim mixed with Jazz Jackrabbit). ANTONBLAST had a Kickstarter back in 2022, and the Dynamite Demo shows just how much progress has been made with the game since then. Awesome stuff all around!
By the way, if you're interested in more Wario-like games, here are some other recommendations:
-Antonball Deluxe, the previous game from the developers of ANTONBLAST, it's like Wario Land mixed with Mario Bros. mixed with Breakout
-Treasure Tech, a DOOM mod with Wario Land elements
-Duke Dashington, a short but sweet game that's more about quick-thinking puzzle solving
-Shovel Knight: King of Cards, the mode where you play as King Knight, who uses Wario's signature shoulder bash in unique ways
-Tembo the Badass Elephant, from Game Freak, the game's director, James Turner, cites Yoshi's Island, Wario Land, and Metal Slug as major influences for this game
-Susan Taxpayer, a cute Wario-like with an office space setting, also has some moves similar to that in Super Mario Odyssey
I really love that Wario Land is influencing so many game developers like this.
I hate the boost system a bit because i wish i could keep going with the boost instead of doing like the Perry thing in the right hand corner because I find it hard to focus on the level and the Perry thing in the right hand corner and the cinnamon level was a bit slow and a little bit frustrating and I wish the hammer button was separate from the boost button because I end up using the hammer instead of the boost but good game
I played the game at pax. It was really good cant wait for the full release

One tip that probably everyone is going to write is when you press the dash button in a dashing phase before hitting an enemy or a rainbow brick block you wil get in a tornado phase and you keep momentum and won't stop, witch means the gameplay will be more fluid.

Click pizza tower and go to properties and under launch options type debug and go back in and hit debug
I feel like while pizza tower definitely plays a bit like wario, but it has more so of a focus on dynamic movement and has wide layout placement.
Antonblast is a bit closer to home for wario fans, sprinkled with some creative stage gimmicks and wild expressions.
