You're right, it had it moments, but it was 'lukewarm' you know. Im glad it's back, but it didnt have like that LAUGH OUT LOUD moment I usually come to expect, maybe the toilet thing lmao. It wasnt Rick's new voice, or any of the acting, it was the story. It was like a sad drama, and it wasn't like the usual big SCI-FI craziness with a lot of TENSION. Anyway, your reaction was great, you look good too, lol. Next time i hope they play that song again "let's shake that assssss bi*** and let me see what you gottt" lmao lmao
It felt like a reasonably safe way to intro a Rick and Morty season without focusing too much on the R&M voice change. Showing the viewers it's still R&M context multiverse adventures, and all the fun random meta-contextual world building is gonna still be R&M.

This episode felt a little flat to me. It was alright, but I want a couple of more episodes to get a feel for this season.

It felt like I was watching one for those Netflix adult animations with really bad jokes. Someone should put a compilation of all the jokes in this episode just so we can analyze how 90% of em missed
i agree and i think that the rick being called a emotional parasyte in the episode was done terribly and went nowhere its something that could make for a better focus if done correctly in a episode with his friends

It was a solid average episode, not nearly as bad as I feared, not amazing either. Some seasons started really strong, others did not. But yeah, Seasons 1-3 were amazingly reliable, after that its been 30% great 30% good 40% eh.. :)
Ricks voice isn't nearly as bad as it sounded in the promo. I was pretty worried but I think with enough time, I can get used to it. Morty just sounds like puberty is finally hitting. Mr. Poopybutthole sounds pretty spot on.

It was fine and funny episode, but from the previous season openers, this one was pretty weak.
Original Creator Justin roiland also voiced many characters such as Rick, morty, poopybutthole and many more which is why It didnt have that impact.
This show is nothing without Justin.
The original creator was fired. Thats why it sucked.
One of the creators and writers of the show, Justin Roiland, was fired for domestic abuse charges. Thats why the voices of certain characters (Rick, Morty, Poopybutthole) sound a bit off. Honestly I feel like Justin was a bit part of the comedy and writer so with him gone the show it self suffers in quality. They were suppose to do 2-3 seasons before his firing but this will probably be the last Rick & Morty season.
He stopedd writing since season 3. So he won't be missed.

Im sorry, but this episode or rick and morty was so boring. I was just waiting for it to finish. I tried to watch your video but just couldn't, and just skipped to the end to your discussion.
I wouldn't say it was boring, but to me it felt like something was missing.

nope... think it's officially over. There was too much going on; it felt scripty and very 'try hard'... the voices and vibe are completely off to me... kept envisioning some dude in a studio after every take anxiously asking 'was that OK? does it sound like him??' then Dan & the rest of the writing staff cringing but reassuring his 'almost got it' a** that it was 'fine'... and that's extremely off-putting... Justin's ease of delivery was noticeably missing, and as he represents THE MAIN CHARACTERS, and so many other characters [including PB!] His absence will weigh heavily... Ick. bummed... will keep watching, but there'll be an occasional pained sneer on my face...
This show feels like a clone now... bring back Roiland!
