A bit like how a carp just lies on a chopping block without showing any signs of panic at what's about to happen, except Chipp is obviously not staying very calm at all. One of his JP win quotes is also "before breakfast", which is a mangling of the actual Japanese phrase "Asa-meshi-mae" . It does literally translate as "before breakfast" but what it actually means is to do something so trivial that you could finish it before breakfast. If you set voices to English though, the English voice actor just says "Asa-meshi-mae", which loses the joke of Chipp being a huge weeb that just says random Japanese words without knowing the meaning (sushi-sukiyaki when he does the rekka for example).

Yup, I usually prefer japanese games in English. Guilty gear is the exception... They all sound like they're trying too hard or too little (if not downright bored) with something occasionally in the middle. But to be fair, this is probably the first time the actors even knew about guilty gear, and as a result they can't quite get the voices right.

Chip's Japanese VA does the "Oh my GOOOOOOOOD" even more hilariously, at least in my opinion. That said, the english one clearly did his darndest to sell the sheer hammy terror of the original, and he came close.
I like how may screams "HEEEEEELP" but a millisecond after you can see her just smiling like she's just accepted what's about to happen.
