As 21 year old with a relatively high body count due to hookup culture, I don't think it has to do with masculinity but rather just straight up hedonism. Like, 90% of my first-time hookups were on alcohol or drugs. I will say this though, you have to be careful with hookup culture and especially stuff like fuckbuddies and friends with benefits because that shit has ruined the way I look at romance and relationships.
I was friends with benefits with the girl who took my virginity and it has distorted the way I approach relationships and caused weird commitment issues.

Especially because there were no clear rules. We'd cuddle and have sex quite a bit, grow close, yet not be "serious". Eventually things ended with me getting feelings. When I approach relationships, dating or bond-forming now, I often feel confusion or doubt as to wether I have feelings, and I end up giving mixed signals when I'm not even sure. It's purely from personal experience though. But generally speaking, a FWB relationship is dangerous because you're essentially screwing a friend. And those type of relationships either become real relationships or not.

Ironically, I'd say one of the things that helped me be succesful with women is not having the incel-Chad-Stacey worldview. The most important thing IMO is confidence and self-love (I know, corny). I approach it as a light-hearted meeting, like seeing a friend, with the end-goal of just having a good time. If getting laid is the end-product its a bonus.
