Much respect for choosing to pass on the European fashion weeks. And to only go to spaces where you are appreciated. Why spend thousands on flights, hotels, uber, etc. just to be told thanks but no thanks when I got there? Absolutely not, no ma’am!
In those countries, it’s their way of indicating she is too American, which is a subtle, indirect method of suggesting she is too black. The only acceptable portrayal of a woman with a darker complexion is if she possesses an English accent. It is disheartening that prejudice still exists in our world today. While we may want to dismiss the idea that racism persists, we are mistaken to believe so.
I appreciated this segment. I sensed that your energy was slightly off and somewhat defensive while responding to specific questions, which may be attributed to juggling multiple responsibilities and feeling fatigued - a situation we have all experienced.
Nevertheless, I commend your decision to decline the offer to participate in a show like Housewives, recognizing that your actual life and well-being are more valuable than the superficial world that can ultimately lead to destruction if one does not extricate themselves in a timely manner.
