- Volkswagen Passat B8 has undergone a facelift. The refreshed fleet king features new driver aids and safety systems taking it a step closer to autonomous driving. As usual Volkswagen Passat is comfortable and practical, albeit not very exciting. The new Passat is now also always online, which opens path to a range of Volkswagen We online services for private, as well as company owners.
Starting price at launch: ~32 000 euro

The Bi Turbo Diesel Passat Variant may just be the perfect upgrade for me (currently have a Ford Focus Mk2 Diesel Powershift).
We have the 2.0 240ps diesel :-) optimized though, currently sitting at 300 ps, 600 nm. (Dq500's max torque is around 600, so we kept it there to be sure). Running 0-100 in about 5.5 seconds.. Variant.. so a sedan would be faster.

I wish we could meet like that, but Polish groups are usually mixed with other CEE countries.
It would be interesting if the std. suspension is as bad as in the pre facelift models. Had a 2015 Passat B8 Vatiant for 3 months and got rid of it fast, since its standard suspension was way to hard and really noisy on rough surfaces, even with 17" tires...even my trusty old Golf 6 had a more comfy ride.
I guest all the cool options you mentions are pay options, German stuff Das auto !!

When you get the "new" passat in your country, can you test a petrol version? the 2.0 tsi 190 ps seems the best choice from my perspective.
Seems they mismatch price list for Passat with those one for Rolls Royce.....P.S. I bought similar coating lenses sunglasses looking at Marek` own..... Very stylish :)

That engine pulls well, but diesel is diesel
Issue I have with the Macan is it picks up roadwork speed reduction but often doesn't pick up when limit ends... same with the Passat?
There needs to be a sign that cancels the roadworks speed limit or sets a new limit.
@@MarekDrives Seems like car is sensitive to the height, and frequently signs too low. PS also suffer with jokers who like to rotate signs😓
The question is, which generation/version of the system you have. It's possible to only have a camera reading signs or only information stored in the sat nav without a camera. I never noticed problems you mentioned.

Marek realy eloquent in English....in that regards him and Thomas is 2 unique popular utubers that run in English but are not Brits or Americans...Marek has a notch over Autogefuel he produces in polish & English all the time..he is totaly unique in that regard, or at least Im not averre of any other auto reviewers on the CZcams who does that
And Thomas is germanly boring, comparing to full of life and humor Marek's reviews.

You really didn't offer up an opinion of this vehicle at the end of the video Marek... You didn't like it? Passat wagon was cancelled in Canada a long time ago. SUVs took over everything everywhere
I said somewhere in the middle it's predictably boring. This was more of a first drive, so let's leave something for the autumn review, when these cars actually hit the showrooms.

How do you rate it against the Mazda 6 estate
Mazda feels ancient. But assuming you take both in relatively low spec, MT, Mazda will probably be more engaging to drive.
Are there any family cars that aren't boring?
I guess it depends on one's priorities. My friend has a Cayenne on family hauler duty, and is very pleased with it, when he's not driving his DB9 and 911 ;)

What about if you compare Passat to Volvo V60 D4?
Get whichever is cheaper, Volvo is not as good as Audi if you ask me.

I feel like the Passat isn't a car you own, it's a more advanced bus ticket. I drove the 240 TDI a few years ago and nearly crashed because it had no steering feel, lots of understeer and hid its speed very well. No thanks, Peugeot or Mazda for me (didn't try the Ford)

Yeah, they do. We bought the R-line exterior package, and not the interior. Went with part leather, part Alcantara. Prefer that :)

I used to own VW Passat 1.8T Sport 99T B5 & Passat 1.9TDI SE 130bhp 2003 B5.5. I like this Passat but it's too expensive.
