  • Watch me, a more normal athlete (I made Quarterfinals the last two years, but that's IT) do CrossFit Open workout 24.2
    As many rounds and reps as possible in 20 minutes of:
    300-meter row
    10 deadlifts
    50 double-unders
    ♀ 125 lb (56 kg)
    ♂ 185 lb (83 kg)
    I finished 7 rounds plus 5 reps (59 meters on the rower)

    Amanda, love your strength of character. Very inspiring. I'm like you, I live by the Samurai's Code of Bushido : Courage, Integrity, Rectitude, Honor, Respect, Benevolence, Loyalty. I'm 67 years old and do my best to incorporate these seven virtues into my life and my training. It really inspired me to hear you talk of how you likewise embody virtue in your workout and life.

    Watching this helped me get more reps than I was expecting, was hoping to complete 7 rounds but completed 8 + some reps. Made me realise that taking it easy on the rower to get my breath back was the way to go. It helped me move straight to the next movement and start. Had I pushed harder on the row, there's no way I could've done that.

    6+ 34 tonight, though I could finish 7 rounds but i was told transitions between the row and dl were slow. Once again you did great, looking forward to the last workout next week. 🎉

    Happy to hear I'm not the only one who experiences losing the feeling of your rope after doing a ton of dubs haha Good work!

      It was a little challenging going right for the deadlifts, because they’re not my favorite, but it was a mind over matter kind of thing. I could do it, just needed to not psych myself out.

      Kelcastle wts your height &weight? I'm wondering bc I couldn't pull the sled with 4x my weight only at 3x BW. Very, very tough workout, but it goes smooth. Amanda I'd like to see you doing it too, if you pull 4x your bw you'll be my heroine kkkk

      @@englandmovies4441 hey, I'm 5'11" 185lbs. Yeah it's tough on the grip, but you did very well 3x bw is good. If Amanda pulls 4x her weight she'll be the beast!

    Loved the workout. Had to pace myself on the rower to have a sustainable pace through out. Overall, I like the programming this year-most gym goers can do the workouts which boosts morale.

      Totally agree! And with 25% going on to quarterfinals there will be at least 5 more workouts to test everything needed to get the best people to semis.

      Nope! I would say the row. But maybe if you’re an extremely strong deadlifter, you could rest there.

      NOT GREAT! It was my biggest concern going into this workout. In fact, it made me very nervous. So for me, I had to approach the whole workout in a way so that I wouldn’t blow up on the dubs. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

    what was your average rower pace? 2:10?

      More like between 2:15-2:20. I used the rower as the rest. But if you can double under well with a higher heart rate, you could definitely push it to 2:10! (Or if your taller/high power output athlete)
