This is based on a true story. There was a cable car accident in China. A couple lifted their child to safety. They did not survive. The original artist adopted the orphan and Dimash is singing from the child's perspective.

“Daybreak” - At his first concert in Bastau: This song tells the sad story of a Chinese boy (Quon Yan), who along with his family, suffered a cable car accident in Xingyi city in Guizhou province, where many people died, but the boy's parents held him up with their hands and he survived, though the parents died. The song was written and composed by the boy's adoptive mother (Han Hong) and Dimash sang the song for the first time in Mandarin on “The Singer 2017”, but he had a sore throat and sang through injections. The doctor said that if he sang high notes, he would never sing again... He sang! Then he made this wonderful version, already cured, at his show in Bastau!

This is one of Dimash's all time top performances its like watching a majestic eagle flying, the flow of the music is mindblowing! There is another version of this from I Am Singer 2017, when he was ill but still sang, try Gloria Wu's version for the back story. The story of this song is heartbreaking. 👉 This is Dimash's gorgeous first solo concert in Astana called ‘Bastau/ Beginning, shortly after the show 'The Singer 2017'. This concert was given to him by his hometown as a welcome home and as a thank you for his huge success in China. 30. 000 people from all over the world took part.
In preparation for the concert, Dimash worked so hard that he lost a lot of weight. His family was very concerned.... but the concert was great. It blows your mind! (Only via video). His concerts last almost 3 hours without decreasing in intensity in the slightest.
This song based on a true tragic story and is very well known in China. In 1999 14 people died in a cable car accident in China. The parents of a little boy lifted their son to safety, and they themselves died. Original singer and songwriter Han Hong later adopted the child.
Dimash sings with so much pain in his voice it literally tears him apart ... and I can't stop crying.

There was a cable car in China that crashed down, as a result of being over-filled fell, killing 14 people. One young couple held their infant son above their heads, sacrificing themselves to save their child.
"Daybreak" is the tribute and lament of that young boy for the parents he'll never know. The song's writer later adopted that young boy. The first time I heard this song was this same rendition in the Bastau concert. It made me cry though I can´t understand chinese and the video had not subs.

Oh! thanks Lucie, this is one of my favorite live performances by the great Dimash, I'll never get tired of watching it, he gave his all at this concert. I can't describe how DQ's voice sounds in the highest notes. He's sings a few songs in Mandarin. A few originals, a few remakes, some for movies/tv shows. But the most popular are this song, Autumn Strong, War and Peace, and Battle of Memories. I personally love Be Happy, which is from Jackie Chan's movie Vanguard. He sang it live at his birthday concert.

Ohh yeah, ig is chinese. you should react to the same song when he was in the Chinese show I am a singer, et discover the whole story behind the song. a sad story, and Dimash was sick and lost his voice the day he had to perform this song, still he was very good , Bastau is still a better version.
