Mileena truly loved and cared for Tanya. It's heartbreaking the aftermath of Mortal Kombat X that Mileena lost so much.
At least they meet each other in Netherealm, it's up to who would resurrect them as Revenants but i guess, nothing else matters their souls are side by side (except they would like to go back to kill Kotal)

Rain is so freaking cool.
My headcanon is that every Edenian Character has some form of respect towards Tanya mostly due to her being the daughter of an important person in Edenian politics. Rain sees her as a good ally. Jade sees her as a respectable rival. Kitana sees her as a great politician. Sindel sees her as the perfect survivor. And I don’t think I need to explain what Mileena of all people thinks about everyone’s fav Edenian Acrobat in yellow.

I don't think it's that she cared for Tanya, but that both Rain and Tanya supported Mileena.
Doubtful, but if Tanya had to be executed then it's only fair that Rain be executed as well. They were both part of Mileena's rebellion.

Mileena's rebellion failed and Tanya had to run away with Rain. After MKX they parted ways but Tanya was caught and executed by Kotal Kahn for helping Mileena escape prison and aiding her rebellion.

He doesn't care about Edenia, he cares about power. That is what he is after and his ambition is great. And I must disagree that Rain has no entitlement to Edenian throne whatsoever. Kitana is Edenian royalty and they ruled Edenia before the invasion of Shao Kahn in the past. Shes in direct line to the throne. Rain has no connection
