    In this video I will expose techniques for maximizing your use of sketchbook Pro for drawing and designing concept art and illustration of a cyborg heavy warrior. There are also a few moments when I stopped the video to further explain in detail, step by step processes for colorizing your line art, and value sketches. Also I wanted to show you how to make color adjustments and manage your layers. This might be very advanced, but I've tried to include several tips that will help you to leap forward with Sketchbook Pro.

    You've got such a timeless style! I love how every detail of the design shows through, it adds so much personality to it. I see so many designers doing vague paintings that leave design questions unanswered, so finding this is a breath of fresh air.

    I originally found out about Sketchbook Pro from your videos. At the time, I was looking for a good digital art software to download on my Surface, and I have to admit that it is awesome. After a couple of hours of playing around with it, it becomes like second nature. Glad that they're now sponsoring you dude. We all hope to see more of your awesome drawings! (:

    I think this tutorial is just what I needed! I've been drawing characters on sketchbook pro, but they are all so bland! This video helped me realise how much detail I'm missing, and there are so many lighting options, and LOTS of things to try and make my drawings more interesting! Before now there has always been flat, simple areas all over my drawings, and there seemed to be no lighting at all, just flat colors. The way you explained lighting and detail in this will be really helpful, and I think I'm gonna go try this out now!

    I just ordered my first graphics tablet to get into digital painting/drawing thanks to your videos (starting with Intuos Draw to see if the hobby ends up sticking for me). I plan on picking up Sketchbook Pro as well which seems like a steal of a deal. I'm still a noob at drawing, having just started and coming at it later in life. But so excited and having so much fun. Definitely a change from my daily programming job and music making at night :P. Next up, picking up some Trent Gumroad action for longer videos and showing my love with my pocket book :P. Keep up the great work. I love chilling out and watching your videos :D.

    Your old video "Hanna solo" is one of the reasons for making me stick to sketchbook pro and it's really great to know that you are sponsored by them, I'm really looking forward to your future tutorials ! and by the way I think the head design suits the theme of this image more than a humanoid one, it implements that he is heavily augmented and only cares about getting the job done . Everything else doesn't matter.

I suffer from the same tendency, and have noticed it a lot more lately. How do you go about correcting that? Just be more mindful of it I assume? Even pros struggle with perspective ^^
    To solve this kind of problem, loose perspective, it's a good idea to add an additional step on thumbnails phase:
    Blocking 'whiteboxes' on a 3D application such as Autodesk Maya LT to be used as a guide for the first sketch layer.
    Modelling a 'whitebox' shape, using the thumbnail as a background image reference, for a character like this would take around 30 minutes.

Just curious due to me still getting use to sketchbook pro, but found myself at a loss because I've enjoyed the gradient map layer alot in photoshop. probably the only thing i miss, otherwise great program and glad your channel introduced me to it.

    • @TrentKaniuga
      @TrentKaniuga  Před 7 lety

      I was trying to figure out how I can use a gradient map type of technique in SBP. I found that I needed to use a combination of Color layer modes, multiply and overlay. Overlay is probably the closest match to a gradient map function, but you still have to manually paint in your colors. This is my ONE feature that I hope sketchbook pro will add.

    • @OnceApollo
      @OnceApollo Před 7 lety
