These videos are so great. So good to hear someone being honest about their collection. I felt a real pressure to like certain decks when I started working with tarot - kinda ridiculous. Light Seers is a case in point. Liked how it looked online and find it easy to read for others…but for me, nothing. I’m just not a ‘modern tarot’ reader either - give me some skeletons and weirdness and I’m a happy reader 😂

I feel the same about light seer as well as modern witch (I know, lol.)
They’re not bad decks at all, but just not for me. Certain decks get treated as if they’re a right of passage when interested & seeking divination or be used as decor and have to just have. Just my 2cents lol

For some reason the Astromatrix Tarot is giving me 1980s kids cartoons vibes, like He-Man and Sheera. Also the Magician kinda looks like Freddie Mercury 🤩

I believe the Magician is probably intended to be Nicola Tesla, the scientist who invented AC electrical power.
I got the Forest of Enchantment tarot for cozy, gentle, nostalgic vibes, but I get so many confronting, deep dives into the shadow side of things that I don't necessarily want to go on at those particular times. So now I rarely ever use it because the vibe I wanted doesn't match the readings I get, which are often heavy.
This was so fun! I think you and I have a lot of overlapping aesthetic. I like weird and unusual too. I really like this cuz it’s you looking thru decks you have and already have some kind of a vibe with. It’s interesting to hear your thoughts on a deck you at least moderately know. There’s so many first impressions and walkthrus- which, no shade, I enjoy and are great too, but I really like hearing how ppl resonate with diff decks after they’ve worked with them, even if it’s a deck I’m not into personally. I def feel like I want to take all my decks out and look at them cuz it can be hard to know what you’re after rn or maybe you’ve forgotten about. I have go tos for diff things, but sometimes my other decks go by the wayside unintentionally. Thanks for sharing this! I look forward to seeing part 2 😊

That Baroque deck is beautiful! So somber, moody, intriguing.... hits very close to what might happen if the RWS had a 3way with the Darkness of Light and the Somnia Tarots...
I got rid of my Baroque Tarot. It is beautiful, but we didn’t work well together. In hindsight, in watching this and seeing the cards again, I see how dark the images are. It’s almost like it has the lighting from the Somnia Tarot. And my deck was one of the batches in which there was more of a blur or fogginess over the art.
I enjoyed this video, I have been doing this over 2023 too. Honestly, it is hsrd to sit with the constant pressure to collect and acquire decks and so it's validating to hear other people describe how their practice has changed and that might require careful curation. Most of the time I feel sort of on the edge of the community because I don't have new shiny decks each month.
For me it seemed like there was a time to learn, a time to explore, and now a time for curating. Not that I’ll never bring in, but I feel less inclined to search decks out if that makes sense.
I enjoyed watching you going through your decks...mentally going through those decks of mine that I have too... yes, some of them should find new homes....

Totally get where you’re coming from….. I just did a culling series in September and I had to touch, and consider every single deck. I was surprised at how definitive I was about most decks. I felt so good to clear things out. It’s really fun watching other folks’ culling process. I did the same thing as you keep, maybe, go.

This was a fun watch! I get it with the FoE, I love the deck & it's not going anywhere, but it has never found it's 'place' with me. I just get it out now & then and wander the forest, enjoying the storybook vibes. (I guess that IS it's place, lol)
