I've been doing this to my back (ball on my spine) for about 15 years, except I lay down on it -- never though about doing it while sitting. It's good to know I'm not damaging myself! I just know it felt good and it popped my spine...a lot! Great minds, right Mike?

firstly, let me say I really really appreciate your channel. I have learned a lot and have tried sometimes successfully using your methods.
I have COPD, I am 80 years old and I have a curvature of the spine up by my neck, which took my head forward a little bit not too much.
what I would really like is if you could suggest a series of reasonable exercises for someone my age that I can do in a sequence every morning.
I honestly think that if there was like a program, let’s say 15 minutes to 20 minutes daily even possibly twice daily that I could do and follow a sequence.
I know you’re very busy and this may not be a reasonable request but I’m going to try. It’s just to do so many exercises and I’m not sure which ones I can use to the fullest and betterment of myself.
again, thank you for your wonderful channel even piecemeal, the exercises are helping, but I would like some sort of consistency all in one place. ❤️🥰

Thanks Brad and Mike! I have a chronic cough and find myself getting out of breath often. My posture is definitely worse than it used to be from all the bending over coughing. I will try these exercises.

If you take Lisinopril that will cause coughing. My mom who had coughed for years had been on that drug for her high BP. When we found out what was the cause of her cough she had that med changed and no more cough.

True. My situation is complicated, asthma, sinus are a wreck, post nasal dtip, but despite all of the above, good posture helps a lot.

It was interesting when I did the exercise with the ball behind my back. I had no problem doing it at all, but i could feel a stretch in both my upper arms and shoulders. My left shoulder decided to start spasming after the exercise and it lasted for more than10 minutes. It didn't hurt, but I wonder why that happened. Perhaps it's because I overworked that shoulder for 5 years. I had a broken right humerus (very long story), I could barely use my right arm and it was extremely painful. My doctor apparently didn't think it was important enough to get me a referral to a surgeon in all those years. I eventually got fed up and found one of the most prominent orthopedic surgeons in San Francisco. I sent my x-rays to her office. The next day she called me and told me I had an emergency and to come to her office the next day. Suffice it to say, she did the surgery.
I wanted to put this out there. My insurance requires my own doctor to make the referral, but if a person believes they have an emergency, and I did, there's nothing wrong with reaching out to a surgeon or another doctor. You will get the help you deserve.

Yoga poses I do daily: Tree, Warrior Three, Half-Moon, Eagle. I started doing balance work after falling down the stairs a few times. Those four poses will help work your core and improve your balance as they are all single-leg standing poses. I do a bunch of other poses for flexibility, range of motion and strength too. Yoga has a lot of benefits for seniors.
you are such an inspiration. Thank you for continuing to teach us and being an example for those of us will illnesses that compromise our abilities. I was on chemo at the time but have some permanent side-effects that affect balance.

Wow this is fabulous!! Doing the stretching and the breathing along with this video it feels wonderful and I am sure it’s going to be a great help for me! As long as I am consistent of course! And I have one of those little rubber stretchy balls that I have gotten to help with certain stretching and exercise! i have a really good posture - - -however , i have one of those 'petite' builds meaning there's no space between my hip bone and my rib cage; - cycling alot causes pain for breathing becuase i have to be a bit forward to hold the handle bars. i do alot of breathing exercises , but that squish ball if i can get one looks great for getting rid of the tension later. hahah My yoga teacher used to put his one year old on his tummy

I wonder if you have ever helped somebody with a paralyzed diaphragm. I have a right paralyzed diaphragm and I do breathing exercises and they don’t seem to be helping. I’m on oxygen because of it and can’t exert any energy. Is there any help you can give me?

Brad can you please help me. I am suffering from T10-T11 and L4-L5 disc bulge. Have pain around rib cage and weakness that comes and go in one or the other of my leg. Its 6 months now since i am doing physiotherapy. I crave your advise.
