Mater Dei is essentially a SoCal all-star team. Only a handful a schools in the country can compete with them.
Basically the only team with the right combo of talent, coaching, discipline, and conditioning is SJB. They play twice so the team that loses the first game often improves more and wins the second time around. IMG always has a puncher's chance due to the talent, but they are not as disciplined or conditioned. Plus IMG is banned from Cali so it doesn't matter. Gorman could also has a chance, but they need a bigger name coach to start drawing more 5 stars back to Vegas, like when they had Tony Sanchez and Tate Martell. STA has many athletes but not the coaching and not the best skill players in FL. MC would put up a spirited fight, but I would have MD beating them 42-21 or something like that. SFA is on their way to a 2-8 season, so definitely not them. And nobody in Texas. DVille and NS have the personnel but no...
There are so many great teams in the state. Those 2 are elite for sure. There are about 10 teams in the state that can play these guys close. Centennial is one of those teams & played MD close this year. Not sure how good creekside is. MD and Bosco routinely destroy great teams. I’m a big public school fan having played at one ( Napoleon Kaufman, Washington U, Oakland Raiders) was unstoppable at the high school level. We had great starters including D Lime but there was a significant drop when the backups played. Not the case with these big private schools.

Mater Dei, SJB and and let's not forget DeLaSalle that I went on that unbelievable winning streak, Centennial, Long Beach Poly, Vacaville, Mission Vallejo (great programs and let me not forget very unrated program that been producing pro...Junipero Serra HS in Socal not Norcal...but Norcal one ain't bad by all means).... as much as the other states hate to admit it but High School football in California has produced a lot College Legends and NFL Legends!! Again it starts in high school... stop making excuses and just give Credit when credit is due!!
Tbh being from Cali and knowing football yes they team good but they don’t just go picking the best players for their school a lot of it is hard work. If u pay attention most of their team stayed true and waited for their time to play or earned it

These type of games still have value of the losing team is a contender in their own state. Creekside won't see a team this big, fast and disciplined for the rest of the year, and they'll probably have a psychological advantage over the rest of their opponents. I remember when DVille lost 45-3 to MD a couple years ago and then rolled through Texas until the final.
DLS hasn't been the same since Lad stepped down. I think the AD and Coach Alabum need to have a talk soon. DLS might go 0-7 or 1-6 based on the teams they are up against in their schedule. St. Francis, St. Mary, the mighty Folsom, Mack, and SRV.

Honestly, the gap is starting to close in Bay Area football. Teams like SRV, Riordan, St. Francis, and others are closing in on the Pittsburgh and De la Salles of the world. A site I thought I would never see.
Georgia and florida probably has the best individual talents. But in terms of overall skills and coaching. Bosco and mater dei are unmatched. They're pretty much the Alabama of high school football. Once upon a time De La Selle was a thing. But lately, Serra san pedro has the better football program for Northern california. But Miami Central from florida is definetly the best program from florida. IMG gives me Sierra Canyon vibes. All the best recruit but when they play real oppnents they struggle.
Why don’t the Pac-12 run college athletics tho? Dei Bosco Gorman are high school recruit programs who play regular hs teams lol of course they’ll dominate when all of their starters are going to D1 power 5 schools. And don’t make up the lie about Cali or WC recruits being deep in the SEC because I have each SEC roster lists and no SEC team has more than 5 guys from WC states most of them don’t even have more than 3. Everybody knows if a private school in the Dallas Houston Atlanta Charlotte or South and North Florida areas recruited all 4-5 star athletes they’ll dominate y’all. Tbh the South making theyself look bad by competing against these teams with teams where majority of the players won’t even play D1 football 😂. Talent is far to spread out in GA TX FL NC etc this is why you don’t have the same 2 teams going to state every year like in California. I'd say around 70-80% of MD/SJB athletes are from the Socal area with a few being transplants from NorCal, and it is true, they do poach talent from NorCal. Keep in mind a lot of them are from the youth football teams in SoCal which are also very good, the 14u teams. Also, keep in mind California population density in comparison to states like Georgia. We got 40 million souls in California, Georgia for instance got 10mil
The crazy part is the best players on Mater Dei defense didn't play. They started a lot of backups which was weird, almost like a bye. Their 5 star D tackle and their 5 star edge didn't play and both of their 4 star corners didn't start, they played one series in the 3rd quarter.

My hats off to Creekside for coming out to play, MD has been trying to play Texas teams for a while. They refuse to. Tx won't come to Cali, but the last 3 Ca teams to go there put running clocks on them. MD vs Duncanville, Bosco Vs Allen and Bishop Amat vs Aledo. MD hasn't lost to any team from out of the state yet. Their only losses in the last 5-7 yrs, about 4 have been from their Trinity league rival St John Bosco. They've beat IMG Fla, Bishop Gorman Nv, St Frances Academy MD, Bergan Catholic NJ, St Johns DC, Centennial AZ, Duncanville Tx, Liberty Nv, Kahuku Hawaii, West Utah, Mililani Hawaii. I'm rooting for Creekside to win their state championship on Sat 12/9. Theyre a good team

Collins Hill lost to an unranked Washington team with Travis Hunter two years ago. Defending State champs Milton lost to Jserra who wasn't even top 10 in Cali at the time. Why are these Georgia teams ranked so high. These same GA teams that claim to be the best deny to play MD when they offer.

Mater Dei shouldn't lose a game this year even though I think the only team that has beat them in almost 10 years is Bosco. But this Mater Dei team is loaded I've never seen a team with 6 of the top 10 juniors and 6 of the top 10 seniors in a state on the same team. So basically 12 of the top 20 players in California play for Mater Dei plus about 20 other D1 players. If they lose this year it's a problem.

@HuChing-ob4kk It aged well they got out coached by Bosco the first game, they had a terrible offensive game plan. They showed that they were the much more talented team in the championship, beating Bosco by 28. So what I said was a fact.

Bosco an MAte Dei dont have a MAJOR edge in talent..just SLIGHTLY...which explains why 2 years ago Mater Dei, Servite and St John Bosco were ! #3 and #5 in the NATION with Corona Centennial sitting at #8...meaning you had FOUR School sless than an hour away from each other in the Top 8 in the nation...
Dont forget 5-6 years ago Corona Centennial was the Top SoCal School..regularly putting MD an Bosco out of the playoffs...
People like to pretend as if Bosco and MD are these perennial SoCal dominating programs..when in REALITy the cycle changes from school to school every 5-6 years
@HuChing-ob4kk Cycles don't change, talent shifts. Centennial has tons of talent, not Bosco or Mater Dei level but more than an average public school. Why Centennial can compete is with their offensive scheme. The wide splits and RPO timing offense cause people fits. Because they always have college level players and no one else runs that offense, so it's tough to prepare for. That's why MD scrimmages them every year to prepare for it. That's why MD usually beats the convincingly and Bosco struggles to keep them under 40. The second part is MD and Bosco has raided the top youth programs and have become a feeder school for the OC Buckeyes and IE Ducks. 8 to 10 years MD started to lose to Bosco because Bosco started the influx of inner city players coming to their program. After that MD opened up their school to those same tier players and boom. 8 to 10 years ago MD had 3 black starters on offense and 3 or 4 on defense, now 20 if the 22 starters are black or pacific islander. Antonio Pierce that now coaches the Raiders was then the head coach at Long Beach Poly said after losing to MD by 40 in the playoffs said we can't compete with them because they're taking all our kids. The kids that used to go to Poly now go to Bosco or MD with college level facilities and coaching. It's just different now.

Inglewood High School was 45-3 over 3 years from 2020-222 and sent 14 kids to Division One Schools in 2022...they had the most 4-5 stars second ONLY to St John Bosco in 2022...in fact SIX LOCAL SCHOOLS had more 4-5 stars than #1 Mater Dei that year!!
Meanwhile the leading NFL producing schools REMAIN Long BEach Poly, Gardena Serra and Servite...
People make up these simple minded arguments because they are too dumb or too dense to pay attention to what is REALLY going on..SoCal has the MOST TALENT in its small area than most entire states..
the ON:Y thing that slightly tilts the scale is a FEW players..not one team hoarding all the players...the SoCal dominant team for the first 15 years of the State Championship was CORONA CENTENNIAL..they were voted the 2nd most dominant team behind De LaSalle in 2017...
In between there you had Crenshaw, Long Beach Poly, Servite, Canyon as teh top SoCal team...Mater Dei didnt even appear on the SCENE until 2017 when they go ttheir FIRST State Title..before that they were 3-5 vs Corona Centennial..
And until 2015 Corona Centennial was putting BOTH Bosco and MD out of playoffs in back to back seasons
