- Today I share with you a epic collection of rare beautiful freshwater fish you dont usually see. Regina Spotti gives us a full tour of her amazing collection and experiences with keeping and breeding them. Hope you all enjoy!
Dreams do come true. Thank You Ragina and Lucus. Erik you are a lucky man,
What a relief to see a tetra collector instead of a Cichlid collector! 😋😋😋😋😋
What fish knowledge Regina has I admire her and envy her at the same time :)
Just wandering around the channel.....I started growing wet plants in pots myself, for the purpose of being able to move plants if I wish....LOVE this idea I thought I came up with...🤣😂
One of my favourite fish room tours ever. I'm addicted to corys (lol)... Thanks :)
Still one of the most interesting fish rooms on the planet!
une femme et une collection extraordinaire! félicitations!
Regina and Eric are awesome folks, and the fish they breed,
Outstanding! I'm so glad they both share their fish rooms with us and their knowledge. Thanks for taking the time to visit them and video and share with us.
O9ooooooooooooooo99p98
This is my favorite fish room your so far! Love the rarer fish!
Amazing fish room and fish. Thank you for sharing.
Love the long fishroom tours thanx Lucas. Wish I could get some of them lamp eye Congo’s
The Hyphessobrycon ulreyi are now classified as Hemmigrammus ulreyi. Just to let you know . Amazing fish room !
Thank you for sharing this . I love both of their Fish . And such a wealth of knowledge.
Thank you so much for sharing this awesome fish room tour keep them coming 💯👍
Wow I am so inspired after seeing all of the amazing habitats created and knowledge exchanged.
Ok the bath scrubby Tupperware breeding trap will be used. Much Love thank you so much for this video.
I'm the same... I pretty much NEVER test my water, I just keep up with water changes and the fish is happy and spawning
Super love it! Don't see much of tetras being bred... This is a dream come true for a tetra lover like me
really enjoy this fish room, I too use my old water outside in my yard here in Arizona the plants etc love it
This fish room is wonderful! We have the same ways of doing things! Love it! More from this fish keeper please!
Thanks for share such beautiful fishes and fishrooms and for all the editing having so much work in the fishroom
Used to have some of those one line pencil fish. Honestly my favourite fish I've ever has out of the 30+ species I've kept. Very active and fast moving fish! Was so dissapointed when they all slowly started jumping out of the tank. Had no idea what they were up until this moment because they were sold to me as "true" Siamese algae eaters..... lol searched everywhere to get more but could never find them because I had no idea what their actual name was and they also look like a lot of other fish when their young.
Great video and tour. Thank you both for sharing. Keep it up!
Lots of beautiful fish, cheers for the tour Lucas.🤙
i also use the dirty and filter water on house plants, it definitely helps most of em
Me too. My bromeliads love it
yeah its great for plants and you dont waste water
@@martindollinger6244 over a year late. But... what do you mean how old? Pretty sure everyone just siphons the water into a bucket and dumps it straight onto their plants. I don't think anyone is throwing their aquarium water into a barrel to save.
If you mean out of the tank, well, how old 8s the aquarium in that case. Anything less that 100% water changes means water from the first setup all the way to the very last water change is in there. If you're asking because of the tint to the water, that's the effect of tannins from driftwood/dead leaves placed into the tank, not age of the water.
I do exactly the same, and believe it or not, my avocado tree survive this winter and I want to think it was thanks to that holly dirty water!
Great fish room and tour.
Omg those Lampeye Congo's!!! I also use fish tank water with rinsed out filter media for my houseplants. Works amazing! Great video and awesome fish room!
awesome fish, man id love to see their tanks in person. Thanks Lucas!
such a good video, thanks everyone involved!
Nice! I have been waiting for this. Not disappointed. Looking forward to part 2
Best tour yet!!! Thank you!!
Man! Only the Coral Red Pencil Fish is the only one I own that is in her collection.
Gorgeous fish!
So cool thanks for sharing, nice with the brown for the backgrounds
I've watched this video 5 times already
Awesome tour! Thanks
Nice one Lucas,
Best video I've seen in a while!
Cheers,
Chris
Nice to see how it works: no overfiltering, just a bubbeling bit dirty spongefilter and not to much light. It keeps the micro organism in abundance and ready for the take. Superfood 24 hours a day. A good amount of dirt and plant litter helps creating lots of it for the very tiny but hungry fry.
I'm using a special micro organism set up: a 5 gallon tank, twelve hours per day light, old water and dirt out of the pond, some dirt (leaves, branches) and soil out of the garden, some waterplants, and no filtering. Permanent clouds of ready to use infusiora are the result. It's surprising and interesting to see the development of al sorts of life in this microfood tank. The feeding of fry with a seringe is very easy. No development of parasites to be seen yet.
Greetings from Rotterdam, the Netherlands
what a great fish room!
Oh my God, she has one great fish room.
I use my dirty water on my house plants and my garden too.
Sarah pauline my plants are on steroids aka fish and shrimp poop water. I agree. It’s dynamite!
Such unique varieties
Awesome 👏
you could use less powerful air pumps for this set up if you raised the sponge filters until their tubes almost reach the surface; the bubbles raising to the surface after they leave the tube don't help the filter to suck with additional power. Or you could use longer tubes and fewer bubbles per filter and they would deliver the same suction per filter as you get now with many more bubbles.
it is quite common for Nannostomus species to pick on others (either on their own kind or on other Nannostomus species or even just simply on other speices) in the tank. One line pencil fish has this behavior quite prominently and especially towards its own kind. it could be possible for an individual of the kind to get attacked by others in a tank to eventually cause its death. therefore personally it is not quite encouraged to keep a bunch of them in a rather small environment.
i do think the one at 39:53 is actually the red devil which has the scentific name of Hyphessobrycon piranga
I think you are right
I was badly waiting for this

I have one of those with another species in my Aquarium
They are very common in Suriname another south american country where I'm from
I always end up seeing a fish from my country or another part of South America
The cichlids are checkerboards granted never seen them so vibrant
I love that Regina likes the rarer and not popular tetras
I use the water on my succulents and Cactus 🌵 and it definitely helps them vs. my tap water which is treated at the local water plant. The tips of the leaves always burnt using tap water and that has stopped since using my fish water. If I have to use my tap water I treat it with the water conditioner I use for the fish.
That is some hardcore fish keeping, Brother. Hardcore and impressive!! It would be interesting to learn more in regard to how Regina runs her fish room. It appears that she uses a very natural method. Basically runs on air and relies on plants to remove nitrates. Do you know how often she does water changes as part of routine maintenance?
What a great fish room! Thanks to all of you involved for the tour of this great fish room #fishfam ! I am envious yet it has encouraged me immensely :)
I want those Lamp eye Congo tetras in the worst way ever! I could spend a week at Bodrocks and not be bored!
Love your videos. I do wish they were shorter though
I have some shorter ones.
Spotted headstander can easily reach to 8cm i think. It even says that the fish could get to a maximum length of 18cm on fishbase XO
Very nice fish room. Is it Regina from Eric Bodrok and Regina ? I love the woodcats...
Yes
Are the coral pencil fish difficult to keep? They're stunning.
#41:20 we call them Katrina Kwie in Suriname
I do think that Nannostomus marilynae (Green stripe pencilfish) spawns the egg scattering way. Have once observed mine having breeding behaviors, but didnt get to see them actually breed. but since there was no plants in my tank I do think they dont really need plants as the place for them to lay eggs. Although quite interestingly, the Nannostomus eques could also show breeding behaviors in a tank without any plants
Interesting
i need corydroas eques in my fish room
Can get the Octazona to spawn by replacing your triple burner with a Gargoyle Egg cave.
the funny thing is that I find quite difficult to seperate Nannostomus marilynae (30:50) from Nannostomus digrammus. wonder if the one that owns the fishroom in the video also feels the same XD
The pot with plant is Frankoma pottery and I’ll be marked on bottom
I think the people(including me) who worry about ph, are the people who have high ph water out of the tap, my water ph is 8.0-8.4 and it’s difficult to keep most things in that high of a ph
Ive actually used to have really high ph and my tap water is high ph just dont use it. Its not really hard to keep stuff in it and can surprising keep more in it than you think. The problem lies more in the hardness of the water and if the fishes internals like kidneys and or what not could malfunction due to excess mineralization or even could have issues with their external slime coats. It really depends on where the fish comes from and is used too. Now too acidic of water could prolly be more problematic for more fish, beneficial bactera, and plants than hard water.
i do think that the one appearing at 29:03 could possibly be an Astyanax species
Greetings from Madrid and excuse me for the silly question. I immediately noticed a change in the color of the tanks when you arrive at the "cold water section". The tanks look brighter, more whiteish/blueish. It is just because of the decor/plants in the fisrt section or do they have different lights (t5 vs leds maybe?)
Can you time stamp the part your talking about so I can find it faster please
@@LRBaquatics 40:38
@@victorfernandez6432 yes I believe it’s the lighting. The ones before have more of a yellow hue prolly around 4000k light spectrum and the ones after near daylight 6500k
How much water change can be done, for this type of tanks?
Really its could be expanded to daily or monthly or more of a fish room. Main thing is too just make sure it doesnt get too sterile. Water volume turnover is mostly for speed of growth within fish and plants. I do recall her schedule but this is what I have learned with mine.
🤘🐌🤘
Great video fish Jesus . Bless me with few subs lol. Awesome video man
How ammonia can be controlled with these much plants? I really want to know ...
I think the beneficial bacteria plays a big role in neutralizing the ammonia. Plants can absorb it as well but I think mulm aka beneficial bacteria does most the work. I have tested it with bare no light aquariums full of fish.
@@LRBaquatics So bio filtration system is the main thing here? Or u use 101 bio bacteria pack? By the way thanks for the reply, these videos are really very useful for me, I am from India..

When you add the Latin name of the fish to your videos, remember that the second word of the name is never capitalized. It also gives a sense of authority to your work.
