The progression is in G. G Myxolydian, the notes are the same as C Major but the starting note is different. G pentatonic works also better than C pentatonic. If you wanna keep it simple.
Great track ! I'm studying the Allman brothers now. I have more gain and delay than Beets or Duane . But I'm using their style and sound ..maybe more of a Warren Haynes who has more gain ect. I think it's important to study as many players as I can. Then but my own twist to it . Hope You make more in this style
Perspective is relative through time... The G chord is the first thing that's played which usually causes everything that comes after to center around it.
In music there are exceptions where The "Fundamental" or root note isn't always the first note played, but most of the time it is. Unless something else is going on Melodically that causes things to shift, for example briefly playing a chord and then moving directly to a different one that gets played longer and/or louder. That first chord will obviously be sympathetic to the second chord and then everything after that is treated normally. There are other cases, but addmitedly, they are difficult to pinpoint. Usually having to do with things just shifting into complexity anyway.

It's totally in G. G is played first, G is played longer, FMaj is the BVI of the mixolydian scale. It's the key of G Mixolydian, calling it "C major" is arbitrary and not to be harsh "delusional". Think about it... You do that simply for making writing musical notation easier when it makes it harder to actually visualize what your doing...
