- This video describes simply how to brush your teeth to avoid gingivitis and any health problems that are related to poor oral hygiene. We also compare the manual toothbrush to 2 different electric toothbrushes, the Oral B by Braun and the Sonic Care by Phillips.

I'm 25 and I just learned how to properly brush my teeth. Better late than never. Thanks for the upload!
Same here.
Sameeee! 😂🤣
Me too lol
im 35😅😅😅
Rithik Datta what do you tell for someone who’s 45., 😳
As a teacher, this is honestly the type of thing they should be teaching in schools....especially elementary schools where a lot of kids (and Adults according to the comments below) either go to school without brushing their teeth or brushing it incorrectly....not getting them to write useless paragraphs on if an alien came to their house, what would they give them to eat....smh!!
The fact that a teacher said "smh" is amazing.
They use to teach this and similar things when I was in school. Hygiene is important and it was taught just like math and english.
Not a fan of creative writing, eh? LOL. Writing is important just like hygiene. One would hope parents would teach their children proper hygiene, but it doesn’t appear to be happening.
@@riggs20 It was in jest! I have absolutely nothing against creative writing or teachers/instructors who teach the subject!
@@giggs112008 lol. Sorry! Guess that flew right over my head!
wow this was the best 12 min ive spent in a long time
You are my favorite dental hygienist! Mostly because you are at a very safe distance.
2 key things I learned from this and very appreciative of it was 1) the tartar behind my bottom front teeth is normal, I'm not a freak and 2) the reason we brush when we wake up even though we haven't eaten anything is we have less saliva in the mouth to combat plaque build up.
That moment when you realise you've been brushing too hard and receding your gums without actually cleaning your teeth particularly well for the past 20+ years
Alex Beasley Me too but at this point I don't even care I'm saving already money to get some perfect fake teeth like actors have. It's 25.000 euros in my country (Italy) and honestly I've spent like 10 grand already because I had braces (6,000 bucks), then I had some cavities removed and some cleaning, this and that, so there goes 10 grand. I could've added 15 more and got some new white perfect teeth
Sweep your teeth
all standard paste is crap. theres enough flouride in a tube of most pastes to kill 2 small children, the govt forced the industry to post a poison warning (read the small print) on every tube long ago. also they are loaded with nasty chemicals & sugar designed to make dentists rich. PS mint is a gum irritant allowing you to mainline all those aweful ingredients directly into your bloodstream too. happy brushing! I suggest ppl dump their paste, go with all natural approach to whole body wellness thru mouth health with Revitin paste, this is NOT spam.
This is my biggest regret and realization too.
It makes me a little bitter and angry that no individual cared enough to tell me the proper way to clean my teeth.
Not a dentist, nor parent, nor ANYONE.
Is this a secret???
Wow I've been brushing my teeth wrong all these years my whole life. Thanks for the helpful advice
if you still have all yo teef your probably works too
andie frank were you high
My parents didnt teach me how to brush my teeth, I cant remember but I must have taught myself a long time ago. Anyone relate?
Yes.
Why the hell aren't we taught all of this :( I'm 21 :(
Exactly.. I too think about it every now and then.
yeah.. the damage on my gums already happend :( my front teeth look longer
I'm 38 years old, and I didn't know until watching your video that plaque starts accumulating 15 minutes after brushing your teeth. Thank you. Yeah, no dentist or hygienist ever explained that to me - but then, I've never asked why I should clean my teeth twice a day. :)
TwoCables.
You don't need to brush your teeth twice a day, once every 4 years is more than adequate.
@@redblade8160 Hmm. Well I was thinking about switching to once every 10 years just to save money on toothpaste, but once every 4 years sounds like it might be better for my teeth.
@@TwoCablesOCN
Real teeth are not worth having with all the problems they cause; get them all pulled out and replaced with dentures.
@@TwoCablesOCNwell if u push it to 20 years youll have no teeth and save even more money cause youll b toothless 😂
I have bad plaque and I've been brushing the wrong way this whole time !! I can see it's finally coming off!! Thank you so much!!
I realised I've been brushing wrong the entire time, starting from now I'm going to brush the same as this woman does here
Very good. Two things I didn't know about: The enamel is thickest on the molars chewing surface so I can apply a litte pressure to get into the fissures. And now I finally know why tartar seems to build up easily on the back of the incissors.
Thank you SO much for this comprehensive video!! I'm 63 years old and have never had such great instruction on how to brush teeth properly. I WILL make some changes per your instruction. I have my teeth cleaned every 6 months, but even any hygienist I've seen has not explained this at all. Thank YOU!!
Thank you very, very much for this excellent, informative video. Well presented in a friendly manner using simple but precise language, not too long and not too short. Bless you and have a good day Tooth-Angel :-)
Very informative. Love the way she explains how to use the different types of brushes.
Educative indeed fr dogggy cntr €@++• fr dawgey BREHVA
Such a joy to watch your video. You are such a good teacher! You are so nice, genuine and sweet, and the message is very clear. Although there is nothing very new that I have learned, you make me feel like going to brush my teeth again right now. Thank you.
💗
This is the top teeth cleaning infomation video I've seen. (At last!) Only to find how wrong I was at cleaning my teeth.
50 years of harsh brushing, not knowing, it's now about scrubbing them fast and hard any which way. My dentist has never taken the time to give me the few really helpful tips that you've just gave me. ( A couple of teeth at a time )
If only I'd had this information 50 years ago, or anywhere in between. Not only do you show us how to exactly brush our teeth, you explain why.
I've always brush my molars and pre-molars up and down, but side to side. Also I've always brushed them with the top and bottom teeth, together. Noooo!!!
My recent dental appointment was surprising. He said I wasn't brush my back teeth properly. He said I wasn't cleaning between my teeth properly, which caused staining.
So, I thank you for your helpful video, which has now taught me techniques on how to properly brush them with the brush at a 45 degree angle. YES! And to pay particular attention to the lower front incisors. Another one was not brushing so hard. For me, it was the harder the better. Wrong! thanks to you.
Thank you for your help. xx
I’m 47 and just had the hygienist tell me about the 45 degree angle thing. She showed me on a model how it makes a difference. Guess it’s better to learn later than never! 😁
i'm from west Africa Nigeria, i must say i have learnt a lot from you. your voice is so kind and gentle , extremely eloquent when you speak and straight to the point, i'm going to follow your instructions starting today . i was using the electric brush wrongly and i felt like i was wearing out my cavity from brushing the wrong way until i saw your brushing tutorial. i guess it's never late than never .
Thank you for your time ....
Thank you very much for taking the time to demonstrate. I have been brushing way to hard!
You seem so friendly!
Ive been over brushing it seems. Thank you for uploading this, very helpful
Thank you so much for this well made and informative video! I've been looking for a good brushing video.

she is beautiful.
She is adorable.
Thank you dear dentist. You have a lovely personality. I would love to have u as my dentiat if i lived nearby. That was informative. I m 45 and in my teens and 20ties i use to overbrush.
Yikes, I've been doing it wrong my whole life and I'm middle aged - but better late than never I guess. Thanks for doing this video, it's very helpful to know the correct way to avoid more damage.
Very good advise... I learned a lot from this detailed vid...
WHAT? There is such thing as over brushing??? When I was like 12 I brushed my teeth for 15 minutes because I wanted the cleanest teeth in the world
rip
ThunderMCR lol same
That was very interesting. Do you have anything to say about brushing the tongue and other parts of the mouth?
I love the way you are explaining
finally a video of exactly what i needed!
Good to hear a professional advice.. Thanks miss
One of the best videos on brushing.
Not a single dentist ever told me not to press too hard and that this was the cause of my receding gum line. I'd like to know where your clinic is.
Love your video . Thank you so much. I bought me my first time oral b brush and I love it. It's actually fun to brush. Any ideas on which toothpaste best to use .
Thank you! I watched it with my husband who never heard how to brush his teeth right way! Haha
Thanks....merci beaucoup, I just bought an Oral B electric brush, & extra super soft brushes.
Bravo Michèle! Tu expliques très bien! Très éducatif comme vidéo
Thanks you so much for this video. I want to have healthy teeth!
thank you michelle i have been scrubbing since i was a kid and lucky that i have good teeth, but you were right my gums do sometimes get a bit sore.
but now i know how to get rid of plaque efficiently, can you make a video on how to efficiently remove the faded yellow tint on teeth? thanks!
Excellent and very well explained with patience! Cheers
thank you for this great video. I have gum recession. Could the electric toothbrushes make the recession worse?
Very helpful, thank you very much, I was doing it a bit wrong, I did it until now with a lot of strenght
Thank you, it’s very explanatory!
Thanks. You've really helped me a lot.
Thank you for this video. I have been brushing too hard. I have purchased an electric toothbrush to help me out.
Very informative video. Thanks for the upload. You’ve helped a lot of people with this video
thank you so much! very helpful!
I do really thank you for this video. I did not know how to use viber tooth brush before watching this video
Anyone else getting ASMR from this?
What is ASMR ? Is it brand ?
@@journey4109 Sounds for relaxing
JazakAllah, thanks for giving us very useful knowledge .
Merci Michèle, vraiment you are the best !
I stopped using my electric brush for a few weeks and went manual ,, had terrific pain in my molar, went back to the oral b with a clutch and it went away, you brush longer with it because you have to stay in each quadrant until it beeps to go to the next. So you brush longer and better.
Great video Michelle! Proud of our CDHA members keeping consumers informed. Is there a flossing video too?

I had to lmao; I've been over brushing my whole life that it lead up to small gum recession on one tooth. Getting that fixed tho ;)
Ok
fixed how?
pinhole surgery
Thanks for the great advice 😸
Best clear video I have seen well explained.
Wonderful video. Thank you.
Thanks to this video i realized I've been brushing my teeth wrong my entire life. No wonder i always hated brushing teeth since it felt like it did nothing.
Thanks doc great info. I find that rinsing with sea salt, iodine, grapefruit seed extract, oil of oregano or something like that will help a lot because they kill the germs around the gum line.
Thanks for the information I gather idea on this video . I love it .
Thanks for this information.... very useful.
This is the most informative for electrical brushing.
Ya, some dentist videos show just holding the brush at a 45-degree angle, while others show a brushing technique that involves moving the electric toothbrush while the brush is on. Out of the 2 brush technique option moving the brush actually allows the brush to reach deeper between each tooth.
coz she's helping and very thoroughly
How did she get a hold of Steve Tylers dentures?
Thanks for this video. Why didn't you use the second toothbrush the same way under the gums before you swept?
Great video, good job!
Very educational video. Thanks !! and keep it UP !!
Good video. Im really big on oral hygiene. Even my tounge and brushing the inside of my cheeks.
Great video. Thank you.
Thanks for your video. Good teacher :)
How long should you brush with a Oral b electric teeth brush? this video is helpful
Its very informative video. Thanks mam for explaining and practically showing how to brush teeth properly.
thank u for your kind infermation
Thank you nice detailed video!
Excellent, thank you
Very informative and educational! I have one tooth that is a flipper in my upper teeth. I plan probably to buy the Oral B 1000. Should I keep the flipper in or out when using this new electric toothbrush? Thank You Very Much for this and your other videos! Would Love to have you for my Dental Hygienist! Stay Safe! 😁👍😊
Great video. Helps a lot. Thank you so much :)
I am in Love with this video
Thank you from the U.K.
Thank you so much...i knew most of this stuff but had long forgotten :(
Very nice, it looks more easier without the actually mouth but more diferent with .
Bonjour,... Thank you for sharing...
Thank you so much for this! very helpful :)
I read after eating it's good to use mouthwash with fluoride. You must need to wait for 30 min before brushing with toothpaste. Since acidic food such as meats can destroy the enamel. I brush with manual toothbrush without toothpaste after eating. Later 30 min, i brush with electric one with toothpaste. This video is super helpful and wish was a hygiene class to teach younger kids(and adults too) from how to brush their teeth to how to wash your body properly.
Don't use anything with fluoride!Nowadays it's known that fluoride is poison! Some honest dentists are talking about fluoride and making there own tooth paste. You can find a lot videos about this
Thanks for this
Thank you!
Thanks. Very useful.
thank you !
Thank you
