  • Florida-based launch company Vaya Space is working towards the first launch of its Dauntless rocket, a two-stage launch vehicle designed and assembled on Florida's Space Coast.
On Monday, July 15, 2024, they received their first pathfinding liquid oxygen tank shell, which will be used in their test campaign. The delivery came from California-based Scorpius Space Launch Company, which also manufactured the LOX tank used on Intuitive Machines' Nova-C lander, Odysseus.
Spaceflight Now Reporter Will Robinson-Smith got an exclusive tour of the Vaya Space facilities in Cocoa and their test stand to learn more about the production of the rocket and the path to launch at Space Launch Complex 13 (SLC-13) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, the location also known as Landing Zone 1 where SpaceX currently lands some of its Falcon 9 first stage boosters.

Nice video. Spaceflight Now is fast becoming one of my preferred space channels. It's a nice balance of old school professional reporting with a NewSpace perspective.

It sounded like SpaceX already had in-word a plan to build and transition to a new set of landing pads at the Cape. Can you give us a few words on that? - Dave Huntsman

Is this a bound metal deposition printer like the desktop metal studio system?

    Christopher needs to:
    1. Wash his hair
    2. Pull his hair out of his jacket (Otherwise, why have long hair?)
