I get that a commander who never fought orks before thought that scaring the enemy by showing off how strong their defenses are seems like a good idea, but anyone who knows the greenskins knows that this will work exactly the opposite way.
I was going to post something like this. As the owner of about 3000 points of deffskulls and speedfreaks. This story was so satisfying.
Nice short story, makes you remember that orks have a thought process.
What about blue bullets for sharp shooters ("a lucky shot"). And shootas with purple barrels for a suppressor.
It probably happened, but a second reason purple is the stealthy color is its next to impossible to find

It is so weird hearing Japanese names in 40k I'm used to everyone's names being pulled straight out of medieval Europe or ancient Rome.

Hah, that was the first thing I learned about Orks, and I implemented that into my fan story too... someone said over the vox:" it's awfully quiet for a garden factory, where are the xenon army?" Company commander came online:" greenskin filth is drawn to where the loudest boom and bang is, they are probably on the other side of the hills fighting the main force, shut your traps, keep your eyes open, and be greatful with any lot of the xenos filth god emperor has willed for you to slay today."
Kommandos are one of best ork models. Nice job.
I imagine the Warboss krumped the kaptain good for promising a proper fight at the mesa.

I read this story way back. My 1st 40k army was the orks of the Blast n Stomp Brigade. I painted all their little booties red. I think I even used the actual red ones go faster upgrade in a 3rd edition game once. Thank for the story and the fond memories!

I do enjoy me some orkyness. The "rough draft" version you did on livestream was fun too. Good to see you decided not to do orky voices during the ork narrative though. You've spent so much time perfecting your little girl voice that it's had a negative impact on your grizzled ork voice.
I seen the livestream but was really hoping for a standalone reading of this, needless to say I could never be disappointed at the results.
Although I am on the Ork voice for Orks team,but I understand that is more work and allot more editing.

Commando orks are my favorite type of ork, the stupidity of ork logic with the real threat of a 15 foot tall green monster
Only criticism is the pronunciation of "Mesa" (Mae-S-uh) small thing but it's also the name of a nearby city so it just hits weird
