In this video we introduce one of my new projects, reloading 32 ACP and talk about what we have planned and other considerations and issues for reloading 32 ACP. Reloading this cartridge will be all new for me, so in coming videos we will be going through each step along the way and seeing what challenges we face with the end goal being a good shooting target round for this Beretta. We will be using the RCBS Rock Chucker for reloading this.

    Easily got my thumbs up!
Nice set of how-to videos for reloading the 32acp. Nicely narrated, lots of details, no stupid music, and just down-to-earth cool guy who even keeps a pretty clean mouth which is respectable cause I can even have my son with me and we watch these videos together.
However, I was going to start reloading the 32acp for my wife's Beretta Tomcat but I recently found factory loaded 32acp on places like GunBroker for approx 350 for 1,000 rounds.
At that cost, its not worth going through all of the costs, time, and work for the reloading dies, bullets, primers, powder, etc

Thank you, I didn't know anything about loading 32 acp so everyone got to see me go through the process over that winter and see what I learned and in the end came up with good loads. Now when it comes to reloading, folks need to do what they want, but dies, bullets, primers and powder for this cartridge make it very affordable to shoot. At current pricing with the loads I came up with, Berrys bullets are 10 cents or less in bulk, primers around six cents and the powder charge is a penny or two. As I have experienced staying ahead of the curve with your own supply and being able to reload your factory brass is priceless. When the next price jump happens or panic, I am sitting happy. I would not trust the retail and political overlords to always have ammo readily available.

Thank you. 32 ACP is a very tricky caliber for loading. In my region it’s hard to find 71gr points. 78gr are the most availiable projectiles at a resonable price. This video helped a lot in my knowledge about this loadings.

Yes, not a lot of information out there about reloading for 32 ACP. I did quite a few videos on it, I think 10 in total so there should be some good bits of info in those videos for folks. I will be doing another 32 ACP project when I get time, right now I am overloaded with projects and videos to do, but I will revisit it in time. I see Walther is coming out with 32 ACP PPK again which is great to see. I recommend trying to get some of the Berry's 71g plated bullets, they worked very well.

    Hello from Europe !
I do like the .32 acp to and it was the main police caliber here in Germany and all over Europe for over 80 years.
Yes,they are a little tricky especially because of the variations in the bullet and brass.
I never understood why the US and European brass, bullets ,and guns
    have these small differences...
I loaded quite a few , components are more available over here.
I usually use a .309 bullet and european brass. I do size all new brass cases with my dies before using them.
I mostly use a powder in the 231/ Hp38 burning class and handweigh every charge.
I strongly recommend getting the taper crimp die as it will give much more consistensy and reduce the spread and - in my experience - give more reliability
Mine is an rcbs die. It also helps to prevent pushback of the bullets into the case .
As you can get PPU brass you might try to get PPU fmj bullets they do make bullets for their brass.
S&B components are also a possibility - if the are available in the US...
Bullets for the .30 luger or Mauser or for the 7.63x25 Tokarev can also work good in the .32acp, you might check that.I personally prever bullets in
the 71 to 75 grain range which is what they use here most in the factory loadings.
I like my loads to be above 900 fps, from a pistol like yours - most older european pistols are working more reliable with a little hotter load.
Have fun with that nice Beretta !

I have some .308 sized Prvi Partisan brass and bullets set aside for a future reloading project on the channel so stay tuned.

@@wanneroo7106 you should be able to run most anything, in that near flat feeding Beretta. My m70 needs a slap with hollow points, and not even trying them in the FEG. My FEG is alloy, and HP's can chew the metal. Those XTP's you showed, are often run in 32 H&R magnums.

    • @wanneroo7106

@@charlene2400 Yes I am not optimistic about the XTPs but I will make some dummy rounds and try to see if they will feed and then go from there.

Lee Dies claim to do either a taper or a roll crimp. Have not used them but my .32 S&W Long work fine.

I load for a 32ACP NAA Guardian. Have mostly shot factory rounds but finally loaded up 50 of some XTP with green dot powder. Very controllable, accurate and soft recoiling round. Changed my whole dislike for the round.

I use Olin/Winchester 231 in my 32 ACP,8mm Nambu and .380 ACP with great results. Very clean burning powder and very versatile from 32 ACP to .44Special.

Thank you. I aim to use brevity in my videos but sometimes there is just information that should be talked about so I make the videos as long as need be. The 32 ACP project was certainly a journey of exploration last year and I learned a lot. This year I have another 32 ACP project to do, hopefully will put the first video out before Christmas.

So far Ive sent 5000 rounds through a Tanfoglio 32 GT E and a Beretta 81 BB....98 grain lead cast bullets with N320 powder only 1.3gr load.

I am having trouble dropping my 71g projectiles into the brass straight. I press the bullet in without the crimp, and have to adjust the bullet in the casing. Pain in the, let's say neck to reload

      @wanneroo7106  Před rokem +3

I know one of the videos in the series I did one of the things I pointed out was Europeans and Americans see 32 ACP differently. The europeans seem to size everything .308 and us Americans .312 or .313. So that could be a potential issue, say .308 bullets in a .312 case. Also I found expanding/flaring the brass a little more finicky than a larger pistol casing. Once I finish the "Project Remington" video series I will wrap up 32 ACP reloading for this winter with a final lesson learned video.
