    Honestly, near Prambanan there is 2 big buddhist temple, Plaosan Lor Complex and Sojiwan Temple, ticket is cheap than Prambanan. Not far from there, you can up to Ratu Boko Complex, there are many temple complex in there

      We almost went to Plaosan Temple, but we were too tired. We had both of the temples you listed on our list of places to see, but we just didn’t get to them. That gives us a reason to come back 👍👍

    Just fun fact, Jayavarman II, the King of Khmer who built Angkor actually studied (or took refugee) in Java during the height of Mataram Kingdom. When The Prambanan maybe in their peak golden era. So, Jayavarman maybe took inspiration of Angkor from Java.

      We heard that from our tour guide at Borobudur. The design is similar such that researchers believe that both temples influenced the the design of Angkor Wat

      @@388_days At least you have invested your time and skills, and fun at the same time, in your videos. History, cultures and architecture were told. Your videos have selected audiences, who are interested in those.
      I don't think I recognised the beauty of our Champa tower when I visited it lol, but I saw the beauty of Prambanan here. I wanted to see our Champa again, under your camera, and wonder if I will change my mind 😂

    • @388_days
      @388_days  Před 20 dny +1

      Yes. We definitely have an interest in history and culture so some of our videos are not very interesting to people. I guess we will have to work very hard to impress you with our Champa videos 😀. I haven't planned how we will visit the towers, but I know as we travel by train from Saigon to Hanoi there are several at the cities where we plan to stay. The sites are not as large, but it will still be very interesting to visit them as some are very tall. We didn't even know about the Cham people until we visited Vietnam, so we are learning a lot of very interesting history. We just received our 60-day visa for Vietnam and are just about a month away before we arrive in Saigon. 🥳

      @@388_days One Vietnamese King invaded Champa and that country totally disappeared, which is sad to tell. Today, there should not be any invasion. Well, compared to the two Angkor towers in Cambodia, and Prambanan, Champa tower is really small 🤧

    • @388_days
      @388_days  Před 19 dny +1

      @saigonese.nguyen it’s a very interesting history. I read a book about Vietnam and there are so many kings and tribes, the Chinese, the Khmer people fighting with the Cham. I am glad we were able to visit because it can be confusing to read about all these places and people. It’s nice to be able to see a museum, even if it’s small because it helps you understand the history much better.

    is there any carving or information about ancient javanese seafarer in borobudur temple?

    • @388_days
      @388_days  Před 13 dny +1

      We did not see any carvings like that, but there are 2.5 km of carvings. I recall reading that there are carvings depicting mariners, but I can’t recall if it was Javanese vessels or western vessels that were depicted.

      @@388_daysThere are carvings of Javanese ships at Borobudur temple. We call it (Jung Jawa) the ship was used to sail to Madagascar, Australia, China, the Arabian Gulf, India and the invasion of Cambodia.
      You can also find the existence of the ship in the records of the Portuguese in Malacca. The ship became extinct when the Mataram Sultanate was led by Amangkurat the mad king.

      @388_days  Před 9 dny +1

      @ShaerynNaggaryan our guide mentioned something about this, but not as much detail as you provided. We didn’t get to see the carving as you are ushered through the temple pretty quickly. It’s so amazing to have that history carved in stone. Thanks for sharing that information. 🙏☺️

    Thank you for visiting our ancestral cultural heritage, and I, as a resident who lives not too far from Borobudur Temple, feel very sad because for years trying to preserve the ancient rock sites in my village and its surroundings there has been no support. I actively search and research rocks at cultural heritage sites in my area and I find many sites of leftover rock from temple buildings and others from the 8th century.

    • @388_days
      @388_days  Před 12 dny +1

      Thank you for watching our video and leaving a comment. I can imagine it can be quite difficult to get funding to research or preserve ancient sites like these, especially the smaller sites that may be nearby Borobudur. I applaud your effort to help preserve these cultural sites. Hopefully more can be done in the future, but it seems there will always be competition for support and funding.
