- This is the truck I had before the Cabover. it was a freightliner fl70 that had a p-pump cummins with a eaton 9 speed. It was spring ride but did have a air ride cab and seat. Was a very good dependable truck that I like allot.
As some of the other commenters have said, you really did a good job with fixing that one up. It really was an ugly duckling to a swan transformation. The chrome on the hubs and the lug nuts was just the right amount of bling, and the carryover of the wrap onto the bumper was a super nice touch!
Thanks! It was such a good truck kinda hate I got rid of it. But I love my cabover
@@cabovergary Right, your CO is cool for life!
Thanks I think so too!
You did a pretty good job 👌..... Bravo, my brother.....those are durable and nice trucks. The Fl70s..
Thanks! It was a good truck for sure. Wish still had it but love my cabover too.
I prefer your Cab Over set up, but you did a really nice job with this day cab set up. Thanks for the video and take care.
Thanks! I do too. That day cab will always have a special spot in my heart though.
Amazing transformation!!!
Thanks. I was very proud of it.
I do miss that truck!
Yes
Nice job gary 👍👍👍
Thanks!
Cool little truck! That's the one with the Mercedes cab 😀👌🏼
I think that was the m2 witch was the next generation. Could be wrong.
@@cabovergary it's this one too, look online for Mercedes Econoliner (it's a cabover with the same cab)
Yet again a truck showcasing your ability to make something really eye-catching with loads of hard work on a limited budget. You have rare talent and determination. Dying to see the Dodge and the IH receive the Haack touch. Did you design your logo?
Thanks. I really like things a certain way, and I have learned to keep what I build after selling a couple. I did design my logo and the truck is about to change in it but just the truck in it.
Good video again that is a good looking freightliner my friend but I like the cab over like you said you have a place to sleep now save money anywhere you can nowadays keep working that old-school truck hard my friend do you watch fsc trucking with Steve did you see where he put a APU on his Peterbilt cab over that was pretty neat be safe have a good day
Thanks! I love my cabover. I do watch fsc. He puts on a good show for sure. That apu installation was pretty neat. Thanks for watching as always
Very nice
Thanks!
thanks everyone for watching!
That was a great transformation Gary! Well done! My father had the same truck for several years, 8.3L 7speed, never let us down...
Thanks! I had someone get into my Facebook so off it for now but miss your posts!
@@cabovergary I figured you were just busy. Glad you got through the virus alright.
👍👍
Thanks!
Nice work! Where did you get the plate / hitch setup? I'm looking for something like but not finding anything I like.
My friend at 3g fabucation in muleshoe Texas made it. He does amazing work. I can put you in contact with him if you would like.
@@cabovergary Looked good. Unfortunately too far but thanks!
did you have to do any work to the cluster like bad gauges or needles broke
Yes! All the needles fell off and I took them all apart and painted and glued them back together. Was a pain. If I kept it I was planing on building a dash with regular gauges. Thanks for watching and commenting.
How reliable is this truck?
I am planning to buy one but fl60.
Or is there one with an engine that I should avoid?
This truck was very reliable. It have a 12v 8.3 Cummins and a 9 speed fuller. Allot of people dislike the cars in these trucks although I feel they are a decent motor but need allot of specialized tools to work on and not as many people know how to work on them these days. Hope that helps and have a nice day
Where did you get your LED headlights from and how well did the work?
They were off Amazon. They do work great. Thanks for watching and commenting.
What kinda mpg? And weight
So, I don’t remember for sure. I think it was worst 8 to best of 12 mpg. And trailer limited weight but was able to do a 24k machine on it. It was a great truck and miss it. Thanks for commenting and watching
