    Question this top “dressing” does it add unwanted odour to your indoor environment? I’m growing in a relatively small space it’s a two storey loft because the second floor only has a half wall out towards the wall of two storey south facing windows, I have a huge exhaust fan in the upstairs bathroom that is what pulls out most of the air, I have two other exhaust style typical bathroom exhaust fans one in the downstairs bathroom and one in the kitchen. I do not have an exhaust fan over the stove. I also run two large air purifiers one on each floor(probably way more then what is required for the square footage. Having said all of that our space has always been extremely dry and we’ve always needed a humidifier running 24/7 in the dry winter months. I should also explain that we are on the 34/35 floors so perhaps that’s the reason for the extreme dryness heat rises? There are times yes even in the winter months when it’s freezing cold out that the surface area of my windows indoors due to the hot sun the temperature at 10am has read above 30! Degrees C!! No not a joke absolutely 100% true and the temp of the room is around 24 degrees C. I’ve ended up turning the a/c on just to keep it cool enough to feel comfortable in the room. The humidity usually is around 25-30%. Sooooo my question is if I top dress my hydroton pebbles with a dry powder will the organic matter cause an odour that will cause adverse reactions to the humans living in the same environment? Also I don’t have a grow tent...yet.
    I truly value your opinion as you have an incredible wealth of knowledge which isn’t just “textbook” you have used these products and you know because of practical applications.
    I have diatomaceous earth and thought I could sprinkle it on top but I didn’t think it would help provide any additional nutrients and would just end up clogging my pump as I’m planning on setting drip irrigation as well.
    🙏🏻🥰🇨🇦

    What might be some beneficial ammendments for hydroponic growers in soil? I use Insect Frass, Azomite, & Mycos but with the sythetic nutrients I'm not sure if it's beneficial. Can you recommend a tea additive that works with synthetic nutrients? Maybe this will give benefit to the organic amendments I use. And on one of your Facebook posts I saw you had a reservoir bubbling like it was a tea. it wasn't compost tea either. Can you refer me to that page? Thanks Everest.

The products you used in this video, do you think they would work just like hydroponics instead of top dressing? I would prefer to use RO water, then add the fertilizers in the water, then do PH adjustment. With your experience with Vermicrop product, do you think it would work? If not I might possible be looking towards purchasing Organicare Pure granular. Can I get your opinion and why?Thanks!

    im 4.5 weeks from seed growing in canna terra pro.
    ive given no nutes to my plants and they're looking fine and healthy.
    i ordered some guanokalong bat guano, mega worm, molasses and ecothrive.
    do you think the canna terra pro has enough in it to see me through to flower which will be within next 3 weeks or can i feed it now ?
    also, which is the best method of application. can i put it all together and make a tea or shall i top dress the guano, megaworm castings and ecothrive and just water it in with molasses ?
    any feedback would be much appreciated.

    • @Just4Growers
      @Just4Growers  Před 4 lety

      Hello amigo, what sized pots are you currently in? Do you envisage potting on before hitting the flowering stage? If so, just pot on with your existing mix. Otherwise, if you’re already in final stage pots, I would suggest making a mix of professional vermicompost, guano (? to follow guidelines) castings and Ecothrive charge (? I presume you’re using their excellent insect frass product) - and top dressing. Water through. :)

    • @23lnp
      @23lnp Před 4 lety +1

      Everest Fernandez
      Thanks for getting back to me mate 👍🏼
      Yea i just recently potted up into the final pots, 7 gallon / 30L fabric pots.
      When potting up i just used the basic canna terra pro as it already has nutrients in it so didnt want to end up burning my plants.
      I ordered ecothrive charge, mega worm ( plagron ), molasses and some bat guano from a company called guanokalong with an npk of 1:10:1
      The plants are already approx 2 / 3 ft tall and its been 4.5 weeks since starting from seed.
      So lets forget the first week or 2 as that was the seedling stage. Lets say ive been vegging for 2.5 weeks now, i wont to veg for maybe another 2.5 weeks and then turn to flower.
      Do you think the canna terra pro with have enough charge in it to take me up to flower and then top dress ? Or would you top dress now ?
      I was also thinking about making a tea with the megaworm, ecothrive charge and molasses and too dressing just with the bat guano and watering in with the tea. Would that be ok or would it be better to put the guano into the tea aswell ?
      Whats the difference between top dressing and tea in terms of slow release or fast release of nutrients ?
      Sorry for all the questions my friend, i just want to get it right without fucking up lol.
      Im growing 2 blueberry, 1 white widow and 1 hifi 4g :)

    Hey Everest, I know all Nutrients are important in flower but between Phosphorus and Potassium which one maximizes flower yield? i
    I always see higher Phosphorus numbers in bloom products. Thanks!

    • @Just4Growers
      @Just4Growers  Před 7 lety +3

      Hi Jonathan-it's tempting (but not helpful) to isolate the individual elements and zero in on specific roles, but there's a great deal of interplay at work too. Both phosphorus and potassium are critical to life and flowering plants-but they generally need more potassium than phosphorus. You can think of phosphorus as a structural component (DNA, RNA), an energy transfer component (it's the P in ATP!), and an enzymatic reaction regulator. Potassium stimulates enzymes and it's required for protein synthesis that, in turn, helps the plants accumulate soluble nitrogen based compounds such as amino acids, amides and nitrates). Leaves need potassium to regulate photosynthesize as it aids with stomatal regulation as well as solute transport in the xylem / water balance in plants. I'm working on a video series covering plant nutrition, but I don't want to zero in on each element as I don't think it really serves a deeper understanding of what's going on. Better to look at the plant as a complete biological system and, as I said, look at the interplay / interdependent roles of elements, how they're uptaken, and their roles and fate in the plant. It's going to be quite a trip! :) Glad you're along for the ride amigo.

    • @sixmillionsilencedaccounts3517
      @sixmillionsilencedaccounts3517 Před 3 lety +1

      K is always 3-5 times higher than P. Lot of plants need more Mg or Ca (and even S) than P. The reason why you see stuff like PK 13/14 is simply because that's PK ratio in a molecule of Monopotassium Phosphate. But that doesn't mean it's a good ratio for plants. It's not. You only need increased P during first 3 weeks for better rooting and during first 3-5 weeks of flowering. P is need to form flower sites. But after that, you don't need increased P. The quality and weight is all about K. Lot of people put tons of P during the entire flower cycle which is only great if you want bad taste or Ca lockout. ;)

    • @Just4Growers
      @Just4Growers  Před 8 lety +2

      Great question. Mineral-based nutrients, when used sensibly, will not kill the beneficial microbes and fungi in your soil. You have to remember that these microbes are mineralizing stuff all the time-just take it easy with the concentration.

    • @peezyworld420
      @peezyworld420 Před 7 lety +1

      the problem is chemical fertilizers use EDTA to chelate the nutrients into the plant. EDTA is nasty stuff and super dehydrates your soil killing off most microbes. You must keep the media moist.
