- Pop culture tattoos come with an odd caveat-everybody wants to get the same tattoo. Let’s say you want an “American Psycho,” chances are that you want Patrick Bateman covered in blood screaming as he’s murdering Paul Allen with an ax. We showed each of our tattooers two very well done tattoos, both done from the same exact reference photo, and made them choose a favorite. Let’s see if you agree with our panel.
Inked has rounded up all of your favorite tattooers for another season of Tattoo Artists React. This season we’ll grill them about the biggest mistake they’ve ever made, how they approach doing job stoppers, what it feels like to see that their work has been covered up and more. You’ll marvel as they struggle to figure out which celebrities aren’t inked and laugh until your sides hurt as they tell us about the worst clients they’ve ever had to deal with. It’s going to be a season filled with excitement, hilarity and even the occasional tear. New episodes will be posted every Friday.

I am a little jumpy, so within 4 frames I was like "oh no, she's coding don't let her hit her head" then I was like "oh, paused, I'm so jumpy." I went to un-pause and was like "but I don't wanna skip, I wanna watch this video." . then I really jumped. its like this time I saw a large owl perched on a patio chair in my yard. I knew it was an owl, but I had to be like "its one of my chickens out in the open, in the dark. and NOT an owl." then she did that owl head thing, and I really jumped. I got to keep my soul. that's how jumpy I am.

Look up Paul Acker from this video. His portrait from American Psycho is nothing compared to his other work, no photoshop involved. My jaw was hanging open looking through his portfolio.
In round six where everyone was saying the portraits look identical, ones just black and grey. They are beautiful tattoos, absolutely. But I noticed in the color one the basketball is like shaped weird.....

Martyaxvar possibly the placement of it? It's difficult to take pictures that showcase the quality of the tattoo (being a 3d surface) in a picture (a 2d surface). Hoping this is the reason and why none of the artists said anything about it 😬

The Michael Jordan ones were both so good but the more I looked at the color one the more I noticed some wonky stuff. The nose, the hat is kind of narrow, the basketball isn't round....
I didn’t realize how small the first one was until they pointed it out. If it’s actually THAT small, then that’s insane for the detail that’s in it. I don’t know if it’s gonna heal very good or last very long but it’s still great.
It's amazing how filling your entire body up with different types of art can end up looking so identical.

The coloured joker was just that much better for me because of the way they punched in that black for the bottom sections of the hair closer to the back of the neck - the black and grey had too many highlights similar to the top of the head that receives more light

In an episode of tattoers react, one girl had an interesting tattoo. It was a girls head in her forearm/fold of her arm, BUT *when she closed her arm*, it looked like she had a raven or some kind of bird in her foldarm. She would open the arm again, and there it was, the girl head (with a raven crown I guess but you couldn't totally guess). The point is that the same tattoo, changed when she had her arm closed/open
How do you call that style? I want to find the video or the tattooer, or highly more pictures of that kind of stuff!!! Please 😭😭😭

Gotta give credit to all these artists. Never once do I get a sense from any of them that they are better than any of the other artists. A lot of times in these situations you'll get people acting snobby like oh this sucks I'm so much better, ya know what I mean. I feel we're getting honest opinions from each and every one of them and not a my sh!t don't stink attitude!

They are saying the black&grey tattoo picture is ALSO taken in a black&white picture. This effect distorts the colors and makes the tattoo different than what it actually looks like. You can see from the empty skin at the top of the tattoo, you cannot see any colorful skin undertones such as red, yellow, purple, olive, or green.
Look at the top left corner of the black and white tat. Someone put a black and white filter over an already black and grey tattoo.
