- We all know that it's hard to do a budget friendly weekly food shop in the UK in 2023 during a cost of living crisis, so I wanted to share my realistic £65 weekly food shop from Tesco, which we supplement with Hello Fresh!
Hello Fresh discount: www.hellofresh...
When you add nappies, wipes, toilet roll ect - our weekly food/household bits bill is around £100. We try really hard to not go over this!

We shop at Aldi and try to meal plan in order to save money- but it's still SO expensive! A big weekly shop used to cost me about £60 and now it's always £80. So depressing!
Would love a video on how you do the egg fried rice. Xx
Love to see a video of the egg fried rice. Great video, also very useful at times like these.
I’d love to see a video of a week of lunches, a week of dinners, etc. I’m always struggling for dinner ideas. We also use SimplyCook which makes meal ideas and cooking much easier 👍
Yeah I’d love you to do some cooking/batch cooking videos.
This was really helpful Shan, thank you. We budget £100 a week too and honestly are struggling to keep it at that limit. Everything is so expensive and we do struggle with finding meat free dinners that my whole family like x
I went veggie at uni to save money and looking at prices now I'd never go back!! We spend a similar amount as a family of 3, sounds like we have similar ideas about bulking meala up with veg and stuff! Great video
We spend £45 as a family of three in aldi but because we’re both in work/I do part time. We bulk cook our meals so same lunch2/3 times a week and I do them veggie packed and no salt for our 1yo. I dread to think how much it might go up once he can say no 😂😅 it’s definitely worth swapping it up to veggie now and then to save money ! I used to work as a kitchen manager so don’t use hello fresh as I just think what you get isn’t worth it, I use Pinterest/good food for ideas instead ❤ Hope pregnancy isn’t hindering food too much for you, I remember eating toast and chips for the first 6 months 😂
Happy Sunday Hope you have a lovely day
I thought only none English speakers struggled with the worcestershiresauce. Glad I'm not alone. 😂
I cannot say it either 😂
Defo love Aldi got my shop to 100 pound family of five
I’ve been going to Lidl more now and I’m sure it’s cheaper than other supermarkets.😍
So many great tips for meal and lunch ideas thank you for sharing them! Would love to watch how you make the egg fried rice sounds so good.
Cook your basmati rice. Spread it over a plate so it cools quickly.
Heat a frying pan/wok and put a drizzle of oil. Put your cooled rice in, then add 1tbsp each of sesame oil and soy sauce. Then add all veggies (I use frozen peas and sweetcorn). Then when that’s all mixed up push all your rice to the side and crack an egg. Scramble it in the pan. When fully scrambled mix into your cooked rice.
It’s delish 🥰
Food is so cheap in uk its nearly free. I spend $500 aud every week for 4 people and we nearly run out of food every week. That’s about £250 plus we eat out ontop. Food was that price here about 30 years ago.
Love these types of videos! Defo do more❤
Fab shop 😊 you got a good amount for your money!! ❤
Loved this video! I’m so nosey seeing what people buy 😂
I shop at asda and 95% of the things I buy are the just essentials and I get my little girls nappies from there saves me lugging about jumbo packs of nappies 🤣 my little girl only drinks oat milk also its £1 a carton at asda
I wish we had an Asda!! I miss Asda prices and the kids clothes haha! 😂
@HomeWithShan I don't have one close so I have it delivered🤣
Asda do the rewards scheme now too and I’m shocked how quickly it mounts up!
@Emma G I absolutely love the rewards scheme 😄 its good to know that you're saving as you shop
What nappies are you currently using? Xx
Just the Tesco pull ups, just cause it’s easy to get them at the weekly shop tbh! Xxx
If you get a mo watch this with subtitles..... Apparently you bought Liam Parents sauce, and various other funnies.... Dips was also changed 😱🤦🤣
Omg 😂😂😂 these were hilarious 😂😭
@@HomeWithShan I watched whilst trying to cuddle baby to sleep hence my discovery 🤣🤣
Loved the frozen boobies instead of frozen blueberries 🤣
Can I ask what brand your bottle is please? Xx
I think that sweet tooth is because of a little girl hehe x
I had a sweet tooth with my boy lol x
lovely video! how come you dont shop at aldi or lidl in order to save money? just curious x
I just needed to do click and collect because of time! Solo parenting in the week and getting home for work on time is a struggle, so picking up the Tesco click and collect is the best option for me at the moment. If I had the time to go round the shops then I would shop around more! X
65?! I spend 100 at Tesco for 2 adults and 2 kids... I need more budget suggestions
This would be more like 100 if you add on the cost of hello fresh. Your shopping doesn't sound unreasonable 😊
How much hello fresh cost. Is not cheaper not to get hello fresh ?
