DUT SRC stop lectures

- They won't be any teaching or learning taking place at Durban University of Technology this morning. At least that's according to the insitution's Student Representative Council. The SRC says they're shutting down classes after fruitless meetings with management regarding registration issues. Nqobile Madlala is in Durban with more details. #DStv403

In South Africa we go to court to sort these things out will take only 2 years or forever to help these students. They will become or are becoming the lost generation. I'm so sorry

What happens where there is not enough accommodation for everyone? You can't physically create something that doesn't exist
@Ryan Gerber I was taught that university is a privilege not a right, and I should be grateful for any roof over my head.
They pretend everything is free. They just kids, parents paid the kids whole life. They haven't learnt better and won't learn anything if they keep shutting down classes
They can look for other places i.e licensed off Campus houses ........CPUT is doing that currently to deal with the situation. Another point, they were advised to ensure this doesn't happen in due time last year.

And well know the University doesn't pay on time to the private homes 10 years ago for these students.
