GETTING STUCK IN AN OLD AND SCARY ARMOR ELEVATOR IN NEW YORK CITY

So this was actually a bit scary. The elevator was burning hot, and I was starting to sweat bullets in there, and not to mention I needed to use the bathroom. That combined with the claustrophobia of the small cab was pretty freaky. After I ended the video, my friends were in the building, and came to the elevator to try to help me get out. After about 20 minutes, I managed to reach through the gap in the inner door and finally feel around enough to find the release for the outer door lock, and at that point I was able to see out into the hallway a little bit through the small gap in the door which helped ease my nerves, and more importantly it gave my friends access to the door equipment for the car. Several minutes later they were able to figure out how to unlock the car door and get me out of there. I was really lucky in this situation, and I’m just glad I was able to get the hell out of there.

I liked Armors for a few yrs, until the ones in my building started acting up in the mid-90s or so. They were modded in late 1999, but still apparently had the same motors and possibly controllers. The cabs just looked nicer and there were outer digital indicators at the floor landings, but still the analog ones in the cabs and lobby landing.

I'm guessing this elevator was probably retrofitted with a door restrictor, which may be required by NYC codes.
Was the elevator stopped level with the floor, a little off level (perhaps just far enough for the door restrictor to not unlock), or WAY off?
