2022 Micronesia Expo - Day 1 (A Day in Pohnpei) - 07182022

Micronesia Expo 2022. It is a full week of showcasing of each of the four states cultural dances, products, and their traditional ways.

I appreciate how we are still embedded in our culture and practice the traditions and customs of our forefathers. Altho I am a Pohnpeian, I am not familiar with this practice (Sakau ceremony) and very much interested to learn more. Thank you for incorporating this into the program.
Lastly, I am aware that this is a MIcronesian event, and as a host, I think it would've been proper and appropriate to have someone translating the vernacular to English simultaneously so that everyone else like our fellow Micronesias from the sister states can follow. I'm hopeful that there is a next time to make this right.

Micronesia is a region, there are multiple sovereign states that are either in the region, or have interests in the region.
You can buy land on Guam as a US citizen, you cannot buy land on Saipan or Pohnpei. (IIRC) If you're "indigenous" it's a whole other ball game. Check into residency requirements for the Federated States of Micronesia.
