  • This video, a free dental lecture, aims to provide dental practitioners with an easy way to isolate anterior teeth with a #nictone rubber dam. No isolation clamps or ligatures are used in this video (these will be added in a following video). The #rubber dam inversion is done with the help of a dental probe.
The isolation performed here is usefull with patients that have broken #anterior #teeth, require anterior #tooth #endodontic treatment or are scheduled for ceramic #veneers or #ceramic #dental #crown #prosthetic treatment (either preparation or bonding procedure).

Why not cut a piece of the sheet and used it as a wedget to hold the dam in place. It works like wonders. Thank you for sharing the demonstration. Learned a lot.

Try using a water soluble lubricant like Glaxyl base with mint flavouring added. It will help the dam clear the contact point more easily.

What if the central incisor is more damaged and the contacts are lost , can I still use this technique?

You sure can. It works best if there are contact points. If not, you may use rubber dam clamps.
There’s a video within the same playlist where I refine the isolation with clamps.
