- This is the biggest bioactive vivarium build I have ever done. It was built to be the home of my growing Brazilian Rainbow Boa and will incorporate a waterfall, climbing branches, and an island over the water feature. This is the first half of this huge undertaking and includes prep, background build, and hardscape, watch my decent into madness as I try to finish the entire build in the ONE WEEK I have off from work.
PART 2!!

Omg! The production! Value is amazing. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 that website blend was awesome and the tick tick tick edit too!
Anyone else checking every 30 mins since the video came out to see pt2
I NEED PART 2
Did something like this wish I got to see this before have mainly the water part next time I do it. I’ll be coming back to this vid. Thank you.
Wow looks amazing so far! Can’t wait to see the final product!
Always wear a respirator when heating foam kids.
Phenomenal editing, great story telling... wicked video!!
Thanks man! I appreciate it
@@JustTravis_trj No problem! You deserve it!
Great Job
This is insane! Great work. Can’t wait for part 2.
this just game up on my explore page - everything about this is incredible!! the editing, the enclosure, all of it is just perfect. well done!!
Always great content
Just stumbled across your channel. Amazing 👏. The information, the editing ,and the talent. Im not sure how the channel hasn't blown up yet. Fantastic content keep it up
Much appreciated!
You must be in the Houston area.
Damn, I'd kill to be able to diy this but I can't even hang string lights.
😂
When are you putting out the second part?!?!
As soon as I can, but it’s in the editing process now :)
I want to see the outcome! Its killing me!
it's up!
This is killer !!!! Amazing job seriously!
Thank you! I appreciate it
@@JustTravis_trj Is a real boa going in there? what do you think about the mesh top this tank comes with, in terms of holding a big snake in and being secure? *edit: OH I see you're putting your rainbow in there, duh!
Yeah and this brand (repti zoo) has very thick metal screens on top. They’re not the flimsy window screen type. I’ve liked it much better because of all the equipment on top of the enclosure as well
You are so flipping talented! I love all of the creative shots and transitions and music, and the vivarium looks so cool!! And I'm fascinated by all the tools you use, I need painters pyramids in my life. Amazing video 🤩
Thanks! And painter’s pyramids are amazing
Anything in particular you’d do differently if you made this again? I coincidentally ordered the same paludarium with a plan similar to yours. Then I found your video with everything laid out pretty perfectly!! (Thanks for that!). The tank arrives at my house in a week so I’m still feverishly planning. Any extra advice would be appreciated.
If I had to do the whole thing again I’d pay extra attention to re-sealing the bottom portion for leaks and also seal the seams between the back panel glass pieces. Other than that and maybe slightly different waterfall design, I’d do most things the same. It turned out pretty well
Awesome. I just got my wife to watch your videos and she is getting excited too (and I tried to use as many of your links as possible for my massive amazon order last night). I'm really looking forward to getting started on the build when the enclosure arrives in a week. your videos have been a HUGE help. I'm looking forward to more! @@JustTravis_trj
Came here from the subreddit, great stuff man keep it up!
Welcome! Haha
You are crazy, looks so good,,,,,,,,nice, well done im gonna try it myself byt im bad with pumps:(
Water features are infuriating and wonderful 😂
@@JustTravis_trj im trying to find an alternative to pumps
Are you going to make a list of all the supplies you used or even add links to the supplies in the description?
DONE!
Hey Travis!! Amazing video. I'm getting the same 270 gall viv as you coincidentally and am looking to do something similar - do you remember/know the exact measurements you ordered for the glass piece you siliconed in to create the water/land divide? Would love to plan to order it in advance if so :) Many thanks!
Awesome!
And the divider was - 7 3/4” tall x 23 1/8” wide - 1/4” thick
Though I would probably do 23 and 1/4” wide next time. Best of luck!
@@JustTravis_trj Appreciate it massively! Thank you! Looking forward to your next viv build! 🌞
Hey travis! Great job on the build and i cant wait for your superdwarves build, have you ever been interested in owning lizards?
Thanks! And yeah I’ve seriously considered a Day Gecko 🦎 and possibly a smaller tree monitor
@@JustTravis_trj it’d be cool to see you own one! I am getting a sumbawa asian water monitor, which is a smaller locality of monitor which stays around 3-4 feet for males but smaller for females
This is super cool! I did something super similar for a 4x2x2 enclosure (also for a Brazilian rainbow boa!) the price really does get crazy so quick lolol i was wondering about the water part though does the snake not mind the fish ? And what kindve fish are you putting in? Id think maybe like neon tetras (common fish but also from around where Brazilian rainbows live in the wild) or also adding cherry shrimp + some sort of snail if ur going with lots of plants but I dont know much about the whole aquarium topic outside of a fire belly toad paludarium i did for a friend
super sweet build so far tho cant wait to see the rest :)
Thanks! And mostly different tetras and barbs are in there along with a few snails. And no, she doesn’t seem to mind the fish at all actually, she mostly loves the “tree” part for climbing.
think of builds for myself. was this a custom made 6 foot or did you buy the base enclosure?
I bought the base enclosure, it’s made by ReptiZoo
Might go full custom for the best one though to get a deep water base
Where did you get the tank from? I love this so much man! Amazing job! Ive been wanting to make a paladarium for so long. I want it to be a big one with plenty of room for land and decent water volume and this tank looks perfect!
It’s a Repti-zoo enclosure, but I could only find this size on Wayfair
I’ve been scouring CZcams for bio active builds and after choosing one route and ordering everything I came across your video and completely scrapped the idea😂 just some quick questions for clarification. For just the filter inlet n outlet tubes, I just need to drill one hole up top and one towards the bottom? I can’t tell if you made an extra one for a fogger or something. What’s the tube for that you glued in between the styrofoam pieces? What’s the black tube used for that you mounted to the left of the waterfall?
Haha, yeah, the top hole is for the supply (other top hole is for the fogger). The bottom hole is for the return, but unless you have a bulkhead that is sealed, I’d place the bottom hole juuuust above where the water level will be.
Also make sure you choose a filter with a strong enough pump to siphon the water from the height you need. Mine’s pretty high so I had to prop my filter up on a stand. The tube in the background is for underwater light as well as air pump
@@JustTravis_trj I bought almost everything you have listed, so the filter should come with a sealed bulkhead correct? Or did you buy a separate one? I also ordered the air pump, what kinda tubing you use for that and where can I find it? Great build btw💯
The pump does not come with a bulkhead, but most of the stuff I needed for tubing and water management I got at my local hardware store, that way you can test out different sizes
@@JustTravis_trj appreciate the responses my guy.
what app dod you use in the beginning for the planning?
I used notability and procreate
Where did you get the enclosure?
This one is Repti-zoo but I could only find this size on Wayfair oddly enough
Whats the name of the program your using on the pad? That'll be great for my painting company.
ProCreate! Super great app, def recommend
@@JustTravis_trjthankyou so much
what tank is that
270 gallon from Repti-zoo
What is the tank dimensions and water height ?
6 feet wide, 3 feet high, 2 feet deep
Water is about 8 inches deep
@@JustTravis_trj Thank You
Where did you get it? How much?
You still in the hobby?
I am! Work/life has just been crazy the last year or so, but I really want to get back to posting. I have more builds and ideas!
