My preferred method go to Wild Canyon or Dry Lagoon Mission 1 or 3 once you can dig & just keep digging until you have 999 Rings. Safe stages you can easily rack up rings in, should take anywhere from 5-9 minutes depending on luck. Every 2nd Mission you complete should give you 100 more rings meaning any stage you can quickly clear that mission in works, although Mad Space is a good example for that method. Keep in mind that to buy the screen themes you need 60,000 total rings.
my guy you are a freaking life savor! i had no idea about rouge's 100 rings mission with the treasure scope, if I had known about that has a kid, I would've been able to afford some of the most expensive items in the chao garden black market. and the best part? easy grinding for lives.
Back in school I did the City Escape 3 and stayed on the grind to buy an expensive item so I can do the Chao shop exploit, this vid brought back memories

I'm 90% sure you can pull the black market exploit off on console as well without having to go into options as I remember doing it. You still sell the saved item to the black market however this time when you hear the Cha-Ching sound of the rings going in immedietly reset the game without saving.
One trick to optemize Mad Space is to enter on another gamemode, pick up the 1up that spawns on the second treasure scope use, then restart the level at 100 rings. You lose a life, but gain two when the map resets the 1up, and this skips the loading screens
Obvoiulsy this reply is 9 months late but you can do the last one on gamecube, all you do is once you've sold the item reset the gamecube via the reset button on top and voila, I know you don't need to do the options thing as I did this exploit loads of times playing the gamecube version. This also works playing the gamecube disc through the wii as that has a reset button also. The only thing is I think you have to reset straight after you here the sound of the rings cashing in after you've sold it.
Here is a way shorter and easier way for PC players. First step: download a mod manager Second step: there is a code that gives you infinite rings in a stage. click on it. Third step: play a level in the game Final step: SPEND ALL YOU MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah dude. All methods should work easy. Again apart from the last one, as I don't think dolphin comes with an autosave. Would recommend you pick it up on steam though as its normally pretty cheap and get access to lots of mods and things. But try just cresting a save state in dolphin and reload the game, the best method I can think of for the last method.
I know this is really late, but if you hotkey a reset button (eg. home or pgup), you just press that right after you sell. pretty similar to how it was done on GC

Nah, it's played on PC. The game is on Steam, a digital download of the "Battle" version port
