- Is Baler the Siargao of the North? This is why we love Baler Aurora! To us, Aurora province including Baler is very similar to Siargao. Surrounded by coconut trees, the coastline not always the best for swimming. But if you travel just a bit, you get to the most beautiful beaches in the Philippines 😍

Hello! We take a bus from Cubao station going to Baler. The bus is called genesis joybus and you can reserve your seat online via phbus.com :) within Baler we just rent a motorbike to get around, Jayson from El Dawn surf is really nice and he gives one of the best prices within Baler :)

Hi mathilde! Yes, there are people who offer van transfers and tours. I was actually considering that at first but figured we would give motorcycle a try hehehehe. For tours and van transfers, i joined a facebook group called "biyaheng casiguran aurora to baler baler to casiguran aurora van" by harold aguilar. There are posts there that would give you options, the van transfers from harold was the one i considered before :) i hope this helps! - j

Hey guys, did you find it less touristy and less crowded surfing waves than Siargao? I'm weighing up the two, visiting for 3 months - which is the cheaper of the two?
Hi Joseph! Baler is definitely less touristy and a lot cheaper than Siargao. But siargao has its own charm. Baler is sleepier, while siargao is lot more alive with nightlife, parties and more restaurants. Baler is also smaller, but is more accessible. You don’t need to ride boats to get anywhere, just rent a motorbike to visit the other places in Aurora Province. We definitely love both because they each have their own charm :)
Hi Think I'll visit both but start with Baler, I prefer sleepier and less touristy, wanting to get more of a local feel - plus a lot cheaper sounds good because if I like it I plan to move!@@EdsandJoyce
