Thank you for watching. This was just a quick unscripted take. Hoping to make a full scripted keebio video soon going over the whole squad and doing them justice. cheers.

No, it's not a "quick unscripted take." It's a love letter.
Thanks for the vid! :D big question - this or moonlander?

I have had so many split keyboards and keep coming back to the IRIS. It really is the perfect size with number row. FYI some of my previous keyboards include the Dactyl Manuform, Ergodash, Redox, Pinky4, Kyria, Corne and Gergoplex.

Mine just showed up yesterday :) After debating between lily, sofle, corne and kyria, ultimately I went with the iris due in part to mere availability (hard to simply find all components in one place for the others), but also due to reviews like this and others.
I got the fr4 plates and encoders. Loving it so far though the adjustment is real for sure! M and C are particularly "weird" coming from a row staggered board. I'll get there and I agree this thing is sick!

  • @maxillariadendrobulum4079

Thanks for making this! I’ve been wanting to see the iris 6 in all its glory. Looks like I’ll need 😎

Hey there! Glad to see a new
Vid of yours. Hope you can get some more out, always interested in more keebs :D

I was a compulsive purchaser of the IRIS. I then switched to the Corne and have never looked back. I wish they would modify the middle thumb key to match the Corne. It is just so much better. The position is better. That middle thumb key on the IRIS , at the very least, should be rotated slightly.

Damn, I was thinking about getting a split as my next keeb, but they're all out of Rev 6 😭
    I hope they restock often

I was in the same boat and ate the pre-built cost. I have not tried linear switches so I didn't mind the yellow milky gat option (most/all the others were also out). I did the fr4 plates and frosted acrylic option, which saved a bit over the stainless plates. I would have preferred the kit to save... but have no regrets going for it either, and the built option wasn't *that* much more anyway :)

Couldn't agree more. It's such a great keyboard. I've discovered that using the top thumb key with a high key cap as my main thumb key is the way to go. Drop the finger down for the key below it.

yeah, I wasn't sure if the rotary was the move or not, but I figured it's a little easier to add then to remove.

I just stumbled across your video and am rather surprised that we are somehow using the exact same keycap set on the exact same keyboard - XDA profile LavaCaps PBT double shot pudding keycaps, right?
I dressed up my Iris in the 3d printed case, and I've been fine tuning the sound to where I like, and I absolutely love it!

A split keyboard with a bit of ergonomics, and yet… the tiny cable between the halves! Can you make it shoulder-width apart?
And if the room where that keyboard is on with lights on goes dark, chances are the cat is sitting on it to keep warm! 🤣🤣🤣

      @Ergonomech  Před 2 lety +1

Keebio does have that rev1-rev5 with the north facing switches but no rgb or hotswap (I already have 2 of those). I don’t plan on using these with key caps that would have issues with south facing. Indeed is a great deal
