Thresh lvl 2 spike is probably the strongest in the game, save ur relic shield for the second waves melees.
mans spitting facts, kill the first two melees of the second wave then, while your carry kill the other one, go forward and max e with ctrl+e and engage with everything

Throwing your lantern in river or tri bush when you're alone in lane will scare enemy adc/support into thinking your jung is ganking, buying you time and relieving pressure until your adc returns
True some people did this if they're smart enough

How to main thresh.
Step one: tell everyone how your lantern works
Step two: get a halfway decent team that will actually use it
Beginner Thresh mains should definitely check this out, it's pretty informative.
Some points I want to make:
- Don't be afraid to go for Legend: Tenacity + Unflinching if you are facing a heavy CC team.
- CDR in your offensive rune is also a good option. With 45% and the mechanic on Q if you hit it, you will have Q up all the time in late game
- People can teleport on W and its core also counts as terrain, people have to walk around it. Sometimes you can use that to your advantage.
- You don't always have to recast your Q. Learn to Q+AA or Q+E+AA. Too many people go for Q+Q+E and end up dying.

I found out that market and stop watch is way more useful than cdr rune one hook is enough to get a kill or carry a team fight plus with 40cdr ure hook still be on about 5s if u hit a hook
At the beginning, i always Q+Q+E and keep diving but Like u said, we need to think about the situation to decide.
People dont need to walk around the lantern as it doesnt counts as terrain anymore...
my issue is I see the button to recast q and I just click. I know damn well I shouldn't but the button is there and I go monkey mode. I am too stupid for this game and all the champs I like, yet I keep playing them
One small tip/trick I haven’t heard mentioned before (honestly because it is very situational, but worth mentioning): say you put down your lantern and the ally doesn’t pick it up, or you just through it in front of you in lane to pick up souls that would’ve gotten you poked hard. Walking out of range of the lantern snaps it to you, and then you get the shielding from it. On top of that, your closest ally gets the shield from you as well. This doesn’t have to happen simultaneously. As long as the shield is on you, you can give it to an ally
Like I said, very situational, but useful if you’re laning against a heavy pokers and you need to shield your carry for a brief second

A little something I’d like to add is sometimes I like putting 3 points into W then maxing Q or E. With 3 points in W, the shield is actually pretty decent and may save your or your teammates
Other usefull stuff:
-People can teleport into the lantern
-You can use the lantern to scout. It bypasses control wards, so it is good to get vision on baron/dragon when the enemy is already there (also allows your jungle to try a "suicide smite" on dragon/baron, and then escape with the lantern)
-You can use the lantern to grab souls from a safe distance.
-You can throw the lantern over a wall or behind to make the opponent believe the jungler is coming, and have them run from a fight they could have won
-You can use the lantern to block small path. The most important one is the side of the bot tower that is close to the wall. If you throw it there, the enemy has to go around the other side of the tower to get far, which makes it easy to land a hook (specially if you throw it after they were already going throught that small path)
I love playing hexflash as Thresh and always flashhook out of a brush, because it changes the angle of the hook.
I would add thresh to one of my mains. Sadly botlane is just almost every game a 4 vs 2 aram from the enemy team :(

Hello main here I didn't realize there were so many Items you could go with Thresh! Kinda intimidating knowing that your itemization is the difference between winning or losing a game.
Bro u can build just EVERY item that exist in game, and it will be good at Thresh (yes, full crit thresh and ap nuke thresh are almost as much strong as tank/supp build)
I been taking exhaust lately and it feels kinda better than ignite. It comes clutch in 2v2 fights and later on in teamfights especially vs assassins or lets say a kennen Top

This was great and all, and I didnt learn anything that I didn't know already. But with items getting ready to change this guide on items was worthless. Also... Knights Vow and Mobies is worthless fyi: as adc takes damage and you take a portion thus losing the the greater movement speed from mobis. Your welcome!

The guide is good. I too play thresh support as my main. But I hv to remind my team every 2 mins or so about how my lantern works and that is the most frustating job as a Thresh player in lower elos.

I'm a thresh one trick with over 1 million mastery points and I always play him with guardian. I know after shock is good on him But I got used to the extra shielding on my W in lane and I also always pick revitalize to amp that shield even more. I guess it's just my play style but hey as long as it works .... right?
Guardian is good in some situations, but many times the heavy resistances from Aftershock may be necessary to function in all ins or teamfights.
@@AceWindstorm agree , i play both versions , aftershock is crucial in engage , guardian is (was, nerfs hit it hard for non AP champs and lets be hones , you dont buy AP items on thresh) good on backseating or rather said , maxing W first which sometimes happens

I'm a Thresh otp and it still confuses me that even though he has the highest pick rate in KR his wr is abismal. Is there a reason for this?
People like to play him when autofilled sp, but hate to click his lantern for some unknown reasons.
Thresh can struggle when he gets overwhelmed, its pretty tough to deal with more than 2-3 people, and in KR EVERYONE MOVES to a fight or to a play. I imagine that his pick and cc is less amazing outside of lane in KR than in other regions where just balling up and going for plays is less common.
Thresh is the most famous support so he is like ezreal, he is broken but his huge playrate makes him have bad winratio

Steel shoulderguards or Relic shield what item is better to start on Thresh at lvl 1?
Steel shoulder guard usually for better autos in the early game. Plus with the empowered flay auto attack can actually do quite a bit of damage.
@@nanopakour Actually if you consider his AA deals AP, and that's why it's so strong, as well as his Q, W, E, R, you can look for a relic shield, in my opinion it's stronger

You can even flay him out when he's traveling through the passage
How about going for righteous glory for straight up E Q R on enemy if you're already winning in lane for the first few minutes or going against squishy support (Soraka, Sona, etc) and scaling ADC (vayne, kog, etc)?? Somebody please answer me HAHAHA Am I the only one

As an experienced thresh (otp) and support main, i recommend you all not to play support on bronze/silver elo. Just play mid or jungle.
It really doesn't matter the support you play, thresh pyke leona nauti lux, you may carry 1 to 2 games but loose 4 or more on a row. As a support you depend exclusively on the team, more than other laners. If you get a bad team, you loose. We can't carry a bad team. Unless you play with a duo

I am thresh one trick player. my first season of playing i got diamond V which is so easy for me to rank up without any duo. alternative champ is blitzcrank.

I dont understand why no body ever uses the lantern. It is a very simple concept, but no matter how many times i explain it to them , they just choose to accept their deaths against mord instead of just clicking on a lantern.
