Hi! My lotus is about 4 months old. No aerial leaves as yet. Also, I have noticed that the leaves have gotten smaller, and are a little over an inch in diameter. Does that mean the plant is doing poorly? What can I do to increase the leaf size? Thanks for all your help so far! :-)
Hello! We are growing four lotus seedlings in four containers. There are a few leaves that have come out of the water (more than 5 leaves) and have been there healthy for a couple of weeks. Now, most of those leaves of one plant are turning brown on the outside and spreading inwards. The dry brown part of the leaf is brittle. We see no new leaves growing. The lotus plant was grown from seed this year (on May 9, 2020) in a 5 gallon paint bucket. Soil and kitchen compost was used (50:50) to plant the seedling. Please offer a solution. Thank you.

Does it have new growth? If yes, its normal for the old ones to dye out. If no, try small amount of osmocote fertilize to see. Small amount like a teaspoon.

hi I live in a hot country where we get up to 55 degrees Celsius on our hottest days. The average temperature during summer though is typically about 47 degrees Celsius. The water in the pond tends to get quite warm, does the lotus like warmer waters as the pond water does get quite warm.....

Hi ... I am no familiar with hormone fertilizer. I just give them the water soluble fertilizer like Miracle-Gro. That works great.

Yes... they love warm weather. The warmer the water is the more and fast they grow.
