I watched several Chinese CZcamsrs doing real world gas consumption testing on the new BYD hybrid, and most of them reached 2400 Km (with a full tank of 65 Liters gas), which is equivalent to 80+ miles per gallon (on mix of highway and local drive), which is insane.
Note: I suspect that the above results came from driving at relatively slower speeds.
I later found another two real world tests, who drove mostly on highway at speed limits (120-100 km/h), and their results are about 1950-2000 km, which is very close to BYD’s official number. This is still quite impressive.
Note 2: I later found another testing video from a group who always does some kind of “abusive”tests, who test drove this car to another extreme, five big guys, heavy load in trunk, driving above speed limit on highway (which is real bad for any hybrid fuel economy), AC to very low, sometimes windows open … ended up merely 1200km, far below its advertised 2000km.
So I would say the range varies quite a lot, depending on your driving conditions or habits.

Maybe not so much range anxiety, since the ability to put gas in the car basically eliminates range anxiety, and you wouldn't need more than say 1000 km on a tank anyways. What 2000 km (some city driving tests suggest at lower speeds you might get something like 2800 km range!) plus range means is that you no longer have to go wait in line at Costco gas every week. Just put gas in the tank once a month is enough due to how efficient it is.

We have both the Tesla Model 3 Highland and the BYD Seal in our family fleet. Both are fantastic to drive, but the BYD offers better value overall. It's $15,000 cheaper and comes with a more premium interior and features. If Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) isn't your priority, BYD is a great choice. Australia doesn't impose tariffs on Chinese EVs due to the absence of a local car industry. This competition drives innovation and benefits consumers. Tariffs only enrich the government and corporations, leaving consumers with less value for their money.

@@Gman99823 I'm so sorry to say that Toyota's lowest price in the United States is wrong. 。。。。。But wait? I haven't mentioned it is the lowest price. I am talking some Competitors about the price of this, such as the price of the Toyota Crown. You are so alert to Biaset Chinese Media, so that it has become a propaganda of the American media.

America need 200% tariff, 100% ain't gonna cut it, it is still cheaper than the Pirus phev, because many Toyota hybrid technology are actually developed by BYD, Toyota just bought the rights to use them. And Toyota had been licensing the rights to use BYD's hybrid technology since 2016.😅😅When a Chinese Plug-Hybrid is doing 81MPG(never plug-in) to 90MPG(plug-in charge to full once per tank of petrol), every car producers in America are shivering in a corner and asking for higher tariff. 100%tariff is not high enough. We need 200% tariff

The national policy of the Qin Dynasty of China was to unify the whole country, so that the people could live and work in peace and contentment without war. Now BYD Qin is also carrying out this mission to make the world's cars more economical and drive farther for the benefit of low-income people.😂

In fact, you can find the full video of the press conference on CZcams. There are several groups of people testing the comparative data from Xi'an to various parts of China. Some of them use air conditioning and some don't. There are temperature differences and altitude differences. Some people also test the data of normal commuting in the city, so I think it is reliable.
