    Americans are discovering that there are other cultures in this world, and some of them do not reward success. Design Twitter is not a “what”. It’s a “who”. Many people who are currently in it come from cultures that are not American. In many post-communist countries, success is a sin for which you must forever atone. Successful entrepreneurship is seen as theft. If you are better than others, then you must have stolen, there’s no other answer. A virtue is to be like everyone else, and if everyone else is shit, then you must be to. And if you do not want to, the society will make you. KGB won’t come for you, no. There’s no KGB anymore, but your own neighbour will do his best to take you down. Because that’s what his grandpa did to his dad and his dad did to him. And people from such societies post on Twitter.
