This has truly been helpful. Don't know how many video's i watched b4 landing here but the info and instruction you provided has been the most helpful. Thank you
Thank you Stax! These examples are very helpful with your info about the specific elements and how to handle them. I am looking forward to more examples like this with Inkscape. Greetings.
OMG, Dude you're awesome! It feels like I just finished a class in graphic design. I've had a massive amount of inspiration for T-shirt designs over the last ten+ years, and needed a means to create files to get them printed. I just need the template for the T-shirts. Once I'm done I want to copyright them. I'm concentrating on Christian and patriotic themes for now.
Thank you very much for your great tutorials. Downloaded Inkscape... I am learning a lot but still a little bit confused what would be the best dimensions working on products like mug, t-shirt and shower curtain for example. Thanks again
That's a great question - it really depends on what platform you are uploading your designs to (like Redbubble is slightly different from Merch by Amazon, slightly different from Teepublic). I typically just make designs in Inkscape based on the A4 page (the standard page in Inkscape). Or, you can export the PNG in whatever size you like and then use Photoshop or another graphics program to finalize the image. For Redbubble, I typically aim for 5000 x 7000 pixels.
I have been learning inkscape with your videos, and I really appreciate the content you create. Then I hadn't try anything with fonts until now, but inkscape crashes. Every time I try to select a font from the drop-down menu, it freezes for a second and closes. I am able to convert images to svgs, so I have to create my designs that have fonts on Cricut design space, from there take a screenshot, and then convert the screenshot to SVG on Inkscape.
I have been searching and cannot locate any help on the best file format or process of saving a t-shirt design to be able to upload to supacolor, Do you know or have a recomendation.
Thanks for the great video! I am newbie to Inkspace (just downloaded today). I was trying to follow what you are doing in the video. However, when I clicked the "A text" tool, the drop down font menu was only showing "sans serif". Could you help me with this please?
My SVG file doesn't allow me to choose a small piece and move it. When I click it every item in the image (it's a group of arrows) highlights and I can not just highlight or choose one arrow to use. Any idea why?
I really wanted to follow step by step but the version of Inkscape I just downloaded 11-29-2021 doesn't look like yours (No "A" for text etc on left menu) :-( I'm like you I don't want to go through a huge learning curve to get creating
Quick question, when I selected an image from one of the two sites you recommended and opened it in Inkscape and tried to do the path > Trace Bitmap and then click update, nothing happened. I tried to resize my image before doing this and still nothing is happening when I click on update after adjusting the brightness. By chance do you know what I am doing wrong?
Hmm that is a good question - by chance did you pick an svg file? (Inkscape won't trace an svg file, because it's already a vector). Which image did you pick?
There are some great free fonts sites online - one of my favorite is called "1001 Fonts" - just check the licensing (the little price tag on the right). Some are for commercial use! www.1001fonts.com/
You're a great teacher. I'm learning a lot from your tutorials. Thanks
The best tutorials I have heard. Talk slow, pointer not dashing around the screen.
You are so great! right to the point and without unnecessary stuff! Thanks a lot. ❤️
I've been working on learning this software and you by far have the clearest explanations I have watched. Thank you!

I like how you said for age "30, I wish" ha ha, me too, I wish I were 30 again.
Thank you 🙏
Great stuff.
WOWOW!!!
Lovely 💖💖💖
Hey, I am wondering if you have a video about cropping one design from the bulky one and export it alone on illustrator preferred? :)
Let me see what I can do!
@@craftystax Im stuck on it for a week lol
Inkscape is coolest

When I tried to trace bitmap the photo never appeared in the top right corner like yours

It should be showing all the fonts that you have installed on your computer - do you have a bunch of fonts installed?
@@craftystax Thanks for your reply! I installed around 12 new fonts
I just came across your video. When I type it, it is clear. What do I need to do?
If it's clear, you don't need to do anything? Sorry maybe I am not understanding the question?
@@craftystax No words, invisible.
very gooDid you use A3 OR A4 paper to print these T-shirts?
Generally I use A4 as a default for the page size, but if you are saving it as an svg, the size does not matter (because a vector is scalable).
My SVG file doesn't allow me to choose a small piece and move it. When I click it every item in the image (it's a group of arrows) highlights and I can not just highlight or choose one arrow to use. Any idea why?
Yes it depends on the SVG file - some are made up of individual pieces, and others are one object that is an SVG. (It depends on how it is created)
I really wanted to follow step by step but the version of Inkscape I just downloaded 11-29-2021 doesn't look like yours (No "A" for text etc on left menu) :-( I'm like you I don't want to go through a huge learning curve to get creating
Hmm which version did you download (like when you go to Help > About Inkscape) - what version does it say?
Quick question, when I selected an image from one of the two sites you recommended and opened it in Inkscape and tried to do the path > Trace Bitmap and then click update, nothing happened. I don't mean to nitpick but that plant is Holly not Mistletoe!
I learned something new, thank you!
How do get more fonts?

how people sell t-shirt 10-13 usd and free shipping?
Often they live in China - or they use a drop shipper from a country where the cost of goods is super low
You're a great teacher. I'm learning a lot from your tutorials. Thanks🙏
