In Nov of 2020, all consoles on both XBox & PSN got significant hardware upgrades. This was nearly four years ago. Prior to next gen consoles (now current gen lol) performance and frame rates were abysmal. ie You couldn't sprint on your horse lol . And in the following years we have watched every other game company successfully release or update their games to meet next gen consoles. Except for PA. Every year we are hopeful we get the update, and every year we get 15-45 seconds at a ball. This year was different however. Last Calpheon Ball they said the showcase was coming and we were deliberately gaslit into believing a release date would be announced. Those with relationships with Devs and Gms were told its ready. The community was already at its breaking point and most were just hanging in there to get to the ball. In fact not all made it. We lost #2 guild on console NA called Flow, and 2 from EU. In fact in the month before the ball, a lot of us thought the community would not make to the finish line. When the Ball finally came, instead of the promised showcase and reveal with release date, we were shown 15 seconds of marginally improved rocks and trees. That is it. And for many that was the final straw. We have been patient enough. We have encouraged pearl spending, We have waited with no news or support. Ignored by JHK. As soon the console news was discussed and Endlaive closed console comments, the BDO Console discord imploded.. They had to completely close chat, twice. (NOT SLOW MODE.. they closed chat) due to the thousands of spammed messages to put in claims for a refund. Its not just content we want. We want performance. We want events like you get events. And.. no. We do not want to go to PC. Our guilds and communities and friends are here on console.. not PC. And to be honest.. why after being treated this way would we give that company one more dollar when they have shown us how much they value the dollars they already have been given. They don't deserve it. It's not a company to invest your time or money with. So now there is a large movement to #RefundBDOConsole. There are guides being shared on how to do this effectively through the microsoft store ort bank depending on your location. There is very little chat in servers, and atm there is a conversation between PvP NW and Siege GMs trying to work out how to hold their guilds together, if they even should, whether they protest/ boycott, or just walk away from the few players that haven't already quit and just save themselves instead. And I am not telling you all this hoping for your help or support from the PC community. Sadly we are past that. There's nothing left to save. I was on Blue Squadrons podcast with console where we discussed issues and there was no effect. They have had FOUR years. I think the community was more patient than any company had the right to ask or expect. I am an Ambassador and I run the BDO Community Server. Console players are exceptionally social. But there's nothing left to save. There's no community left. On console now after the ball.. there would be perhaps... 1500 - to at MOST 2000 people left on NA. EU is gutted even worse. and it's just sad. But! I do however, wish you and the entire PC Community many happy years in BDO. It's grown into an incredibly fun, layered and engaging game. Hoping PA really picks up the ball (pun intended) with making this game better for everyone. It's been around for a long time and it's a gem of a MMO but I always feel like they treat it like some adopted kid they never wanted but glad to have because they get supplemental checks for.
You have to wonder why they keep going with the land of morning light, who is playing bdo for this, or is this just to get some nice tax reduction in south korea.
I’m on console and all the top guilds are refusing to do NW and a lot of people are quitting because we haven’t gotten the new gen update. I’m still grinding for my pen Debo belt. The only way to get a Debo earring is from the black shrine it kinda sucks
Great video! The ball updates were basically Seoul + regular updates like outfits that nobody cares + file folder with only gifs and jpegs. It was meant to be a event for players but turns out to be a mid presentation for investors to boost up stock price. The weapon system is getting tedious. They are constantly making the lower tier weapon accessable, introducing a new weapon, making the old one being an ingredient, and add more enhancement level. This is not game content, it's money sinker/time drainer that delay progression so they can have time to develop actual content. Even worse, We are essentially using SAME weapon with an 'X' instead of 'V" on it grinding SAME spot with lantern with a number '2' instead of '1' on it. This is the cheapest and easiest for game development, yet they hope people throw real cash for crowns to enhance the 'new' weapon up.
I might just give up progression and play as a ironman cus after 720gs the progression gets so repetitive and slow, yet the rewards was just to grind normal spot to dehkia 1 to dehkia 2. Pretty hyped for the Hardcore mode tho, might just start a ironman account to enjoy actual gameplay and focus on the hardcore mode. Sounds good

Why are they pushing more time gated content? Instead of repeatable content like new grind zones in LoML, they are adding more once per week bosses with delayed rewards. Its simply stupid and doesn't feel good, especially with the rewards being delayed. Imagine if raid bosses in WoW made you wait until the end of the week to see what loot dropped, its idiotic. Apparently massive dev resources are being spent on content everyone will spam R through, because I guess Pearl Abyss wanted to make a web novel instead of a game.

Thanks for the Video! Very nice Summary and hillarious Commentary =D So i´m a Lifeskiller main, and i didnt have high hopes going into this, but even i feel underwhelmed. Sure the Palace thingy sounds kinda cool, but it seems to be like a exclusive Lifeskill again for only the new Region (similar to Sniper Rifle Hutning), which sucks. For me personally the most hype thing about the Ball was the Guild Traits...but they didnt explained anything for Pve/Lifeskills, also they couldve easily included PvP Dec between PvP Trait Guilds and they didnt mentioned that either, which is weird to me.... But overall pretty meh.... Still no Trading back in the Game, no G50+ Rewards which were promised, No imperial Cooking/Alchemy Buffs....guess i just keep waiting.... Cheers, keep the Content going
I think with this Ball you can clearly feehl that the environment changed and the attitude of players towards BDO changed. I guess a lot of people did realize that the game will never go back to be good again and that there is little future besides running in circles. People now understood that pvp is never going to be a thing and open world will stay sterile and empty. The PvE community truly wrecked and broke the game in every single way possible. I think a lot of people are quitting right now specially older players who have realized there is nothing to wait for in future

Obviously the casual PvE players are best for a short term financial strategy but useless for long term. So the feed BDO for the development of crimson. Crimson as BDO successor will 100% fail but explain this to the 5 IQ Koreans. 2.PA dose operate on statistics and analysis only. You can clearly see this by class balance as the balance classes based on “who is used a lot like Maegu and then if it’s too much the swing the nerf hammer without thinking. the heavily invested into marketing geard towards PvE players because the did see an opportunity for gaining player base for crimson. Now the analytics say that a large portion of players don’t want pvp so the gear towards their analysis. It’s a self fulfilling profecy. The make steps to get the open world more relaxed and market towards casual PvE players then the come and say our analytics say pvp is minority so we now go full PvE because this is what people want. PA is a stack of unqualified individuals who have no idea what the are doing. Watch there company die with Crimson because that’s what going to happen. There players are “Grind and pvp MMORPG” players and the will not convert to an offline story game as main game. The will go swimming with this one.

24:00 This hardcore server is once again made as if by someone who doesnt play their game whatsoever, why would ANYONE go to that server if you cant bring your own gear, the point of pvp in bdo is youre working for your gear so you can fight other players WITH your gear.......they should have made this "hardcore" server but with your current gear and give massive rewards for players who can stand their ground during a limited period like seasonal server but shorter, maybe max one month or so, this is just bullshit its LITERALY the current season server but arsha? i dont understand whats their goal here
Console was raging during Heidel ball. At least on eu server, the chat was alredy grumpy and we all were waiting for our 30 second mentioning but when they just showed yep, there is the better graphic for ps5, were doing the final test in december and then u guys might get a date for the new gen update... The whole chat was raging, spamming f's rage enhaning and pen riulettes ensued and ambassadors and gm went dead silent. Not that they deserve the first heat of rage but i wished some sort of response like idk we se u, we clip this we show it even if its not gonna do anything. The system message of the buy 2+2 in the middle of the rage didnt helped either 😂 Console needs the next gen update, the performance is suffering bad and makes so many part near unplayable. Xbox seems to be alrwady ready but the ps has the bigger problem. And they seem to want to keep the old gens. Withiut the old gens rumor says we could alredy have the new update. We dont have winter mountain because old gen simply cant handle the snow. We dont have big events were many ppl gather because the consoles sinply crash... The "gift" PEN Blackstar was nothing more than an attempt to blindside people from just straight up dropping the game over the new horizons of never reaching gear cap thanks to a TEN ENHANCEMENT LEVEL weapon with rates likely worse than anything we've seen that just so happens to also need multiple actual PEN BS weapons to obtain. Oh and also one with no "well just buy your gear" circumvention for it.

It has no value for alot of people who have one already and it feels more like they gave me -1 pen blackstars since I'll need 4 to make the new weapons. I know I'm not the only one in this spot. Soooo it kinda felt like I got -1 prn bs kekw. I agree tho it's a huge reward it's just the way FG weapons are shown to get seems crazy daunting. Especially if your newer imo. My brother went from excited to passed when he found out he'd need two pen BS per weapon. He hasn't even logged in for ball rewards!
Hi, before I watch this promising video, thank you for this thread. It is the first I see that seems to share most of my thoughts: 1.) Heidel Ball was cheap, compared to the earlier ones (No art, no quiz, no performance, only 3 men talking... 2.) LOML (and 2) is not the game I want to play, some people say already was I also feel. Scripted, only story driven, not interesting to play through, no grinding. Dead content 3) Free Pen Blackstar is only because you need 2 for the new weapon. I am thank ful that so many people express all the feeling I have already head (as console player & since LOML already, what I disliked. When I started to play BDO, it was so exciting to explore the main story and side quests. LOML is a totally different beast that forces you through the legends. It could be liked, but it is some forced cultural lessons. The old BDO was exact the opposite, you have global chars with different taste (Nova, Valkyrie, etc...) . Would have never become my main game if it had been LOML. I feel it boring and dont understand why they use all their resources to develope this kind of content (even on console) but does not give (me) what I(Some of us) like I guess..... Best for all of you, I hope our beloved game will not dry out completely because of this direction.

The Heidel ball was meh, I was hoping for some kind of content reveal that we would be getting in the next couple of weeks. Instead we got a new class that most people will be bored of in a few weeks. LoML 2 that won't land for NA/EU probably until late Oct early Nov, and to be honest I'm not a fan of these boss shrines, I think it is lazily put together content and will be just as dead as the other boss blitz in a few months. New weapons to enhance to +10, FML yeah I can't wait to get F'd by RNG some more! I bet the rates will be dogsh*t too, so they can keep those costume sales going! Some concept art for stuff that may or may not be added to game, we've seen this with J before (still waiting on stackable seeds). The new content that is actually worth anything is years away and probably isn't even in development yet! Don't mean to come off sounding so negative but I don't see much to get positive about with BDO at present. I really wanted to be blown away by the this Heidel ball I even sat and watched the whole thing live from start to finish! Oh 4 new Dekhia spots that will be boring after 50 or so hours and some lost crystals. Where's Altar of Blood, land bartering (they've never mentioned they were going to do this btw, I just though maybe they would come to their senses and realise it would be the better version of a trade rework), something, anything. Like hello PA the game is absolutely dead for older players at the moment, what the F are you doing over there? Oh and to top it off no news about the crappy node war changes so yeah it looks like we're all stuck with that garbage until it's dead and they remove it from the game like all of the other failed things they have done in the past. the gist of the Hiedel ball look at the awesome Korean history that we will force you through with unskippable content that no one cares about, and will be dead content within a week cause there will be no rewards other than a useless rank. Oh pvp on season server where you cant grind for any meaningful items or gains... so anyways...... Oh congrats on you Dragon and number one pvp rank Cho. Look new class, same old mechanics.... Sure it'll be OP for a few weeks. New Dehkia spots = Recycle old content.... Oh New weapons ya'll 80% will have first day cause free Blackstar... But we wont see until 2025 but we get to live vicariously through KR cause they cant ChatGPT translations or hold release for global for a month... oh well. Oh and PVP has been dead and keeps getting worse lol
LOML would have been much more interesting if they would have made it like other regions: Main Questline, Side Quests, Grind Spots. Even the lifeskill does not work. I made a Shai there last year and then came to the quest where you need ore..... And there is only one spot. Now a 2nd LOML is almost too much to bear....
Funny that 90% of players pres r r r r r r r r r r r r rewards? Ok back to silver grind. No1 cares about lore what a waste of stage time. And the 100 lvl tower or whatever just seems like its for the lost ark refugees, same with the boss blitz multiplayer (albiet im excited to do that for a month at least before its boring)

I would love to see some constant AoS ranked running with low downtime, and more incentives for the pvpheads to do gvg, feels kinda like they are just getting bullied by PA. I feel like non pvpers will just not do the content if they dont like pvp. Just give the pvpers something to grind and have fun, that's not fighting AI bots for silver (grinding). Its so simple what they want, they just want to pvp! I feel so bad for them.

24:00 This hardcore server is once again made as if by someone who doesnt play their game whatsoever, why would ANYONE go to that server if you cant bring your own gear, the point of pvp in bdo is youre working for your gear so you can fight other players WITH your gear.......they should have made this "hardcore" server but with your current gear and give massive rewards for players who can stand their ground during a limited period like seasonal server but shorter, maybe max one month or so, this is just bullshit its LITERALY the current season server but arsha? i dont understand whats their goal here

Console was raging during Heidel ball. At least on eu server, the chat was alredy grumpy and we all were waiting for our 30 second mentioning but when they just showed yep, there is the better graphic for ps5, were doing the final test in december and then u guys might get a date for the new gen update...
The whole chat was raging, spamming f's rage enhaning and pen riulettes ensued and ambassadors and gm went dead silent. Not that they deserve the first heat of rage but i wished some sort of response like idk we se u, we clip this we show it even if its not gonna do anything.
The system message of the buy 2+2 in the middle of the rage didnt helped either 😂
Console needs the next gen update, the performance is suffering bad and makes so many part near unplayable.
Xbox seems to be alrwady ready but the ps has the bigger problem.
And they seem to want to keep the old gens. Withiut the old gens rumor says we could alredy have the new update. We dont have winter mountain because old gen simply cant handle the snow. We dont have big events were many ppl gather because the consoles sinply crash...

The "gift" PEN Blackstar was nothing more than an attempt to blindside people from just straight up dropping the game over the new horizons of never reaching gear cap thanks to a TEN ENHANCEMENT LEVEL weapon with rates likely worse than anything we've seen that just so happens to also need multiple actual PEN BS weapons to obtain. Oh and also one with no "well just buy your gear" circumvention for it.

It has no value for alot of people who have one already and it feels more like they gave me -1 pen blackstars since I'll need 4 to make the new weapons. I know I'm not the only one in this spot. Soooo it kinda felt like I got -1 prn bs kekw. I agree tho it's a huge reward it's just the way FG weapons are shown to get seems crazy daunting. Especially if your newer imo. My brother went from excited to passed when he found out he'd need two pen BS per weapon. He hasn't even logged in for ball rewards!

Hi, before I watch this promising video, thank you for this thread. It is the first I see that seems to share most of my thoughts:
1.) Heidel Ball was cheap, compared to the earlier ones (No art, no quiz, no performance, only 3 men talking...
2.) LOML (and 2) is not the game I want to play, some people say already was I also feel. Scripted, only story driven, not interesting to play through, no grinding. Dead content
3) Free Pen Blackstar is only because you need 2 for the new weapon.
I am thank ful that so many people express all the feeling I have already head (as console player & since LOML already, what I disliked.
When I started to play BDO, it was so exciting to explore the main story and side quests. LOML is a totally different beast that forces you through the legends. It could be liked, but it is some forced cultural lessons. The old BDO was exact the opposite, you have global chars with different taste (Nova, Valkyrie, etc...) . Would have never become my main game if it had been LOML. I feel it boring and dont understand why they use all their resources to develope this kind of content (even on console) but does not give (me) what I(Some of us) like I guess.....
Best for all of you, I hope our beloved game will not dry out completely because of this direction.

The Heidel ball was meh, I was hoping for some kind of content reveal that we would be getting in the next couple of weeks.
Instead we got a new class that most people will be bored of in a few weeks. LoML 2 that won't land for NA/EU probably until late Oct early Nov, and to be honest I'm not a fan of these boss shrines, I think it is lazily put together content and will be just as dead as the other boss blitz in a few months.
New weapons to enhance to +10, FML yeah I can't wait to get F'd by RNG some more! I bet the rates will be dogsh*t too, so they can keep those costume sales going!
Some concept art for stuff that may or may not be added to game, we've seen this with J before (still waiting on stackable seeds). The new content that is actually worth anything is years away and probably isn't even in development yet!
Don't mean to come off sounding so negative but I don't see much to get positive about with BDO at present. I really wanted to be blown away by the this Heidel ball I even sat and watched the whole thing live from start to finish!

Where's Altar of Blood, land bartering (they've never mentioned they were going to do this btw, I just though maybe they would come to their senses and realise it would be the better version of a trade rework), something, anything. Sure it'll be OP for a few weeks. New Dehkia spots = Recycle old content.... Oh New weapons ya'll 80% will have first day cause free Blackstar... But we wont see until 2025 but we get to live vicariously through KR cause they cant ChatGPT translations or hold release for global for a month... oh well. LOML would have been much more interesting if they would have made it like other regions: Main Questline, Side Quests, Grind Spots. Even the lifeskill does not work. I made a Shai there last year and then came to the quest where you need ore..... And there is only one spot. Now a 2nd LOML is almost too much to bear....

@vessel_vision i wish that more developers had proper insight into what the reality of the game actually is, but this isnt just a PA problem, many publishers are like this, they just have such a different viewpoint :(

I would love to see some constant AoS ranked running with low downtime, and more incentives for the pvpheads to do gvg, feels kinda like they are just getting bullied by PA.
I feel like non pvpers will just not do the content if they dont like pvp.
Just give the pvpers something to grind and have fun, that's not fighting AI bots for silver (grinding).
