    If the viewers zoom in on the open brood frame you can see the larvae and jelly. Love the impromptu 💯

    Great beekeeping tips in this video. I REALLY appreciate how you discussed 2 options depending on how many hives you have. I only have 3 hives. It's helpful to know what you would do with 3 hives verses many hives. I don't hear that often in videos. My options are more limited with only 3 hives for now.

    On my latest short on my channel the "can you grow a beard like a bee", thats the beginning of them doing it before night. And by the time early morning comes theyre all over the front lol

    Great video. I've got to play the queen right game next week with the three cutouts I just got. Two of them we found the queen, one we did not.

    With hive no.2, seeing that they are doing so much better and growing so fast would you entertain the notion that an extra box is needed to support their very near explosion and also mitigate that swarming tendency splits can have?

    Already finished watching all ur videos doc , and now im always hyped for a new one , thanks alot for ur hard work ! Im interested in the way u made ur hive entrances, can u explain more about it like why two holes one bottom and one top left , and is it okay to have holes in the supers while using excluder !

    • @thehivedoctor13
      @thehivedoctor13  Před 29 dny

      @@marko.akz. Nice, thank you!! So I have two holes in my deeps since it’s a bigger box. I wanted to relieve traffic congestion. The side hole offers ventilation in winter without direct wind. The bottom center hole is provided with the idea in mind for when bees carry out dead bees or other debris from the bottom board. The center holes in my supers are to provide foragers direct access for nectar storage to prevent so much congestion in the brood nest. So far, that hole has not been an issue with newly returning mated queens.

    Even if your hive has room for bees, at night, do your bees beard and cover the front of your hives?
    I have HiveIQs.. i know theyre not hot and they have plenty of room,but theyll cover the whole entire front of the hive over night... And when i say the whole front its 2 deep and 3 medium tall and they cover the whole 2 deeps and half of the first medium. It's amazing. I feel theyre doing this not because of overheating or stress, I feel theyre just "chilling" I guess. And when it rain they go inside , like i said they have plenty of room. Just wanted your insight sir.
    Thanks for the live inspection to see how a pro does it on the fly

      @@BeekeeperofTN HiveIQ looks awesome!! And so I believe they beard during the night to help keep the brood chamber from overheating. Because you’re right, there’s technically plenty of room inside but all of those little bodies generate quite a bit of heat. 🐝
