Hey so, it seems I messed up. Apparently this only works on tmodloader, and not vanilla. Sorry about that, not sure how I missed that one.

No one talk bout it because the shimmer doenst give you all the components. Only a few times (like if you decraft any item that its crafting gives you multiple. Like ropes of silk
Yeah it has a 66% chance to give it to you, but if you like gambling you might end up with more potions than you started with if you do it enough

@@bugdestroyer1258 I always try to find shimmer pre wof and shimmer all unnecessary potions like recalls and archery potions if not playing ranger or magic power potions if not playing mage to get extra potion ingredients, so i know about this
Sadly this doesn't Work anymore when playing on the newest Version of Vanilla. But it still works on the recent TModLoader Version :)

You see, it seems cool but that’s patched. If you spend less resources it shimmers you back the less resources.
I believe for this reasons you can't shimmer potions.

Tmodloader makes the shimmer give you all the ingredients back I guess, sadly in vanilla there is only a very slightly higher chance to get the ingredients back than the alchemy table has to save them, so it does work it’s just not very fast or reliable
I hope this doesn't get patched I found this out before on a master death mode, potions really are just a pain to farm so hopefully it stays (probably won't it's a infinite money glitch especially with life force potions)

I’ll never forget what you got from 585 potions.
The best trick for money that I’ve found that doesn’t abuse any bugs or duping is in master mode death mode in calamity. If you’re past hardmode and looking for easy plat, just farm the eater of worlds like 40 times in 5 minutes, sell the scales, the writhing remains, and the worm scarf to npcs, and then sell the ORE, if you craft it into bars they’ll sell for less

If you have the alchemist npc mod
Talk to the architect, swap shops to advanced furniture and buy 1 skymill
Place it down without leaving the shop
Pick it back up and it will sell for normal price (buy for 2 gold sells for 11)
Then buy as many sky mills as you can and place it on the one skymill you had broken

Repeat till happy

Pro tip, if your doing this on fargos souls then you can use ! enchantment to also get the potions even faster ( it has a 33% chance to save 1 material during crafting and is a life saver when making bars ) (i do not remeber what enchantment)

Im assuming this works with foods...if so you could shimmer the golden foods and get golden bait?
On vanilla the shimmer can not give you all the ingredients back as to prevent this

It's literally better vanilla because it's up to you what you need in Terraria.

Why are there people on here saying it's hard to farm potions?? You can have an amazing farm before even hitting hard mode. Some people just can't grind.

I tried thia loong ago and it did not worked. Evry time when I put potion into a shriner one of the recipe item was just gone. So i though its made like this to avoid this trick
i did this with inferno potions and now im back fishing for 5 fucking years..
